How many tea towels do you have in your house?

r/

How many in total? We are a family of three and we have about 40. I’m thinking of throwing them all away and getting 10 new ones. Do you think we could manage with just 10?

Thanks everyone

so confused as to why you would chuck them all away? how wasteful

5? Why would you need that many. Equally why can’t you just throw 30 out and keep 10 you already own

We’ve got about 20, I don’t know where they come from

Too many – when we moved into our house people kept buying us tea towels. I have a drawer of them now!

Are you regularly using 40 on rotation?

    If so, why? How? Why?!?

2 adults and 1 toddler in our house –

    Bath towels – 6ish
    Bathroom hand towels -8ish
    Toddler towels -2

    Kitchen / tea towels – about 700

    Don’t throw them away.

Lots of animal rescue places always want towels. At least donate them to somewhere like that

    I probably have about 12.

    1. Two “good” ones, two in our previous colour, amd two really old ones. I don’t think I’ve used the last two since I bought the “good” ones two years ago.

    So… you have 40.

Regardless of anything else – are they all damaged/no longer fit for purpose? I can imagine, maybe, deciding to get rid of some ratty ones, but it’s buying all new ones that seems a bit odd. Maybe just thin out any that you have an issue with as a first pass then see what you’re left with?

4 – use a dishwasher so tea towels not used all that much.

About 15 million, my good lady wife buys them whenever we go somewhere. We also have special ones for Xmas etc, I’m not allowed to use them.

About a million. They’re like tea spoons.

    They go missing.

    You buy more.

    They go reappear.

    They go missing.

    Repeat infinitely.

Far too many. My wife likes buying them. Just counted and we have 20 for day-to-day use, plus I know there are some Christmas themed ones put away with the decorations.

9 that I personally know about. There will almost certainly be others though…

We are a family of three. I think we have eight. We also have hand towels specifically for the kitchen. So we have a tea towel and a hand towel on the go at any one time and replace them each week or more often if gross.

In this household of three we have about eight, as I cook with spices which stain so prefer to build up a number of dirty ones and wash all together with the cloths, not with my clothes. In my previous household of two we had a whole drawerful we almost never used.

We have 2 sets of 4 large bath sheets and one hand towel. thats enough to have 1 set in use while the other is washed and dried. Plus 2 hand towels for the kitchen.

(Family of 4). We did have a few extras when the kids were small and doing weekly swimming lessons.

Any more than that just means you need more cupboard space.
