Been seeing this guy for two weeks now and I think we are both very into each other. I am sleeping over at his for the first time this weekend, but I snore like a bear (I have a deviated septum and snoring is genetic). Would this be a dealbreaker or an ick for guys? How do I go about discussing this?
How much do you care if a girl you’re seeing snores loudly?

Doesnt matter at all.. if she has all other qualities do u think snoring should bug u …
As long as it doesn’t wake me up I’m good
My wife snores like a wounded pig, but as per previous, she’s my wife so guess it didn’t put me off too much.
Just give the lad plenty of warning and “jokingly” suggest ear plugs. Or just shag him in the morning by way of apology for keeping him up. Good luck with it.
I’m not a fan of it but if its not hurting my sleep I don’t mind.
My ex gf snored like a truck
I used bedphones but that’s from working overnights. But it helped a little to drown out her snoring
Maybe see a doctor and get one of those cpap breathing machine things. Cuz that snoring problem isn’t really safe long term
Somthing beyond your control, no not a dealbreaker or an ick.
A lot because I’m a light sleeper…so I’ve had situations where I’ve moved to the spare room because I couldn’t sleep
Tell him and maybe bring earplugs. I have sleep apnea, so I use a cpap which negates my snoring, but it’s an awkward conversation each time. Most are understanding. Recently, I spent the night with a snorer and it completely ruined my sleep because im a light sleeper. Definitely made me question having her over again, though I did better with earplugs and some sleep supplements.
My girlfriend sounds like the fucking Texas chainsaw massacre when she snores. So I use earplugs
Hahaha had the hottest goth girl who used to snore like an O Lineman/rugby front rower. Didn’t gaf, found it funny and a little cute. She was still hot and fun.
I wouldn’t have any issue with it but that’s because I can’t sleep unless I’m exhausted to the point of blacking out anyway and at that point I could sleep through a tornado.
The real issue is finding a girl who is okay with going to bed without me instead of making me lay there wide awake for hours while she sleeps. It is indeed a struggle. But the day I find a woman who sleeps as little as I do and has a strong dislike of sleep in general the way I do, that will be the day I finally break my “I will never get married” oath.
Not a deal breaker but it is concerning from a health perspective. You should try some nasal strips if you haven’t already, maybe a tongue guard if that doesn’t work, and failing that talk to a doctor and consider surgery. Snoring loudly is usually a sign of sleep apnea and that will kill you, not to mention you’re never really properly rested no matter how long you sleep.
I have it and nasal strips help me a lot, if I sleep on my back I still get it and tell my partner to just push me if I wake her so I’ll switch to my side.
My wife snores a lot, but hits me for snoring a lot. Life is better with ear plugs man.
Been with my wife for over 20 years and she snores like a chainsaw, and so do I. It’s a balance
Missus snores and it’s fkn annoying as all get out. So damn hard to get to sleep
My wife has a deviated septum as well and snores, I honestly find the sound comforting. Before I met her I found it unsettling cause my dad would do it as a kid so loudly that it would wake me up all the way across the house, but ever since I met her I’ve found it comforting… like white noise almost 😂
That’s gonna vary a lot, person-to-person.
As for myself, I probably wouldn’t care about it all that much.
Back in college, I learned to sleep while roommate would be up all night with the light on typing paper away on electric typewrite all night with a low snapping “bang” with every keystroke hit. So, yeah, snoring, I could learn to sleep through that quite easily enough.
My fiancé and our oldest cat have recently started snoring in synchronization. It’s actually pretty cute.
The biggest ick in all of this is calling it an ick.
You can’t change it. Get those sleepies.
I just straight up can’t sleep in the same room as my girlfriend because she snores very loudly. I really tried and it was just impossible, I was miserable. We sleep in separate rooms. If she really started demanding we sleep in the same room it would be a problem. I would understand but there’s not a whole lot I can do. I wouldn’t use it as a criteria for a relationship but just know what to expect.
Been with that girl that snored like a zoo of bears. It totally sucks and is annoying as hell.
Anyway we’ve been married for over 10 years now.
In the beginning you don’t care if you’re really into her. Later you just accept it.
Would have trouble falling asleep first, but also would probably get used to it after a bit over two weeks.
Otherwise would try to solve the snoring problem, there’s enough things invented that help with snoring already
Get a CPAP. A loud snorer might be a dealbreaker if I’m not yet super attached
I had this big girl I was seeing sleep over one night and she asked if I minded snoring. In my head I was thinking how bad can it be so I said no problem. It sounded like I was sleeping next to a tiger all night. I never let her sleep over again.
If it’s just mild snoring it’s ok. But if you sound like a grizzly bear it’s not gonna work.
Well, I am not seeing her anymore, so it isn’t really a problem.
A lot. I want to sleep well.
It’s okay, I wouldn’t mind.
It all depends on how loud? My brother was snoring so loudly at a family rental the upstairs bedroom door was opening & closing! He has a cpac machine now agree with u/OrphanKripler it’s not good to have sleep apnea. I snore occasionally it was a problem for my husband who sometimes wakes up if I creak a floorboard, so not loud. He asked me to take meds so I told him snoring isn’t my problem it’s a problem for you, maybe you should take meds.
You have a deviated septum that should be fixed, my adult daughter has that too and hardly snores last time I spent the night. She has other medical reasons she can’t do that yet. For quality of life do it for yourself.
You just say you snore loudly disclose this! Arrange a separate place in the area to sleep for either of you. Good luck
I prefer if she does. Then she can’t complain about me snoring! I Mena she will, but she shouldn’t.
That’s one of the reasons I will make sure to have the option of sleeping in separate rooms before getting in a relationship.
I too do snore loudly, and I want to be able to sleep in peace
I don’t mind it on a relationship level, but i don’t want to sleep in the same room as you.
I’ve only known one woman that snores. We were just getting to know one another and never turned into anything. I’d lay in bed with her until she started sawing wood. Then I’d go to one of my spare rooms. I wouldn’t bother sneaking back in the room before she woke up. Because she had the worst morning breath in the history of earth. Maybe try letting him go to sleep first. I’ve heard fellatio helps to eliminate snoring in women.
Depends on the guy. If he’s a heavy sleeper, he probably won’t mind that much. I’m a very light sleeper and would go to the couch. lol.
I’m a heavy sleeper, so I’m most likely not hearing that when I fall asleep, I don’t mind
My ex used to hate my snoring because he was a very light sleeper, and he’d be up all night listening to me snore. My current partner could fall asleep during an active tornado ripping our house apart, so my snoring never bothered him. Lol. I’ve seen been diagnosed with sleep apnea and use an APAP now so no more snoring at least.
None. My mom snores so I’m kinda used to it.
Don’t care. I’m such a heavy sleeper. Even the smoke alarm doesn’t wake me so no chance of snoring disturbing me.
Tbf though, if there’s a fire, I’m fucked.
I’m a light sleeper, so it would likely bother me. However, I’m the ones who snores. I use SnoreRx and my GF said it went from wanting to smother me to needing to check if I was still breathing.
If someone snores loudly I would look at what they are willing to try to address it. There are options.
