I do a little every day so I’m not spending hours at a time cleaning.
Not much. I take care of the dishes and occasionally tidy up clutter. I also take care of the laundry, folding, hanging, and ironing. And taking things to dry cleaning when that’s needed. I also make my bed, and my mom makes hers, of course.
However, we are fortunate enough to be able to afford a cleaning service. They come for several hours each week and clean everything from top to bottom.
We do a nightly closing shift. Someone does all the dishes and cleans up the kitchen, the other will put away laundry from the day into the bins and tidy up the living room and offices.
Then on the weekend, we take about 2 hours to do a bigger clean (vacuuming, mopping, dusting, washing down the shower, lunch prep for the week).
Things like laundry happen throughout the day and that’s just kind of whoever gets to it and then someone will fold.
About 2 hours a day Monday-Friday and about 12 hours over the weekend total.
Maybe a couple hours. We’re empty nesters and I’m a SAHW so I don’t have much to clean these days.
Chores? Sure I load the dishwasher and will do laundry, but we have a cleaning lady who does most everything for us several times a week.
Like an hour a day maybe. Dishes are the main culprit.
Stuff I do daily or every other day:
Dishes and kitchen
Tidy
Vacuum
Weekly:
Laundry (3 loads)
Bathroom
Dusting
Monthly or less often:
Fridge
Dust insides of cabinets, etc.
Windows
Not much honestly. A little bit here and there mostly to keep the kitchen clean, maybe a quick sweep and tidy. We do dishes as we go. Then for about an hour or so every week my husband and I will do the bathrooms, a more thorough floor clean, and laundry.
I do the basics daily. Dishes, laundry, sweep, tidy up.
Weekly I go room from room and spend 15 minutes in each room cleaning and doing the deeper cleaning type stuff and just rotate things if I don’t finish in the 15 minutes. Then vacuum carpets weekly and mop biweekly. Some rooms I can do everything in a week others I can’t.
Kids clean their rooms and help with daily chores.
Not too much because I’ve scheduled everything. I clean as I go, then when it comes to deep cleaning I hoover on Wednesday the whole house, cleaning the dust and tidying my bedroom on Friday, cleaning the kitchen sink and countertop on Friday, cleaning the toilet and the bathroom on Sunday, making sure I’ve put all the trash in the bins on Monday or early morning on Tuesday because that’s bin collection day.
Maybe an average of an hour total a day between everyone in the house. Everyone shares the chores.
Probably 3-4 hours total, mostly spent cursing my past self for not cleaning as I went🥲
Too much but it requires at least 30 minutes a night and time on the weekend to deep clean. I get a cleaner 2x a month and that helps a lot so those weekends I don’t really have to do much besides laundry.
I try have a routine of doing certain tasks daily and weekly.
dishes every day before i cook (otherwise they juat build up )
Laundry as much as needed on the weekends
Whole house tidy on weekedns
Vaccume whole place on weekends, sometimes during the week too if needed.
Change bed linen on weekends
Clean bathroom weekends
So i guess that equates to maybe 1 hour a day on week nights and at least 3 hours on weekends
i do that absolutely every single day, i don’t want to live in dirt
I have a cleaner come in 3 times a week for 2 hours
So I guess 6 hours a week lol

Honestly to the point where I can’t stand it I will do it.
Or clean part by part
Just try to straighten up as I go.
I’m doing a little before or after work at some days a week.
Like loading the dishwasher, folding my clothes, helping my husband with the laundry.
Sometimes I cook on a day off, and I do groceries, either alone or with my husband.
I feed the cats and do the litter box whenever needed, same as he does.
I work full-time in a 4 shift system in a rather demanding job, and due to my husband being a stay at home partner, the rest is mostly on him. He is the one doing most chores, and it’s usually 1-2 hours on a regular day.
A little a day, sometimes I might leave the vacuuming for a few days. It’s not a big place and I have wooden floors do it’s easy to keep clean.
The best thing I did for myself was invest in a cleaner. I still do a lot of housework – dishes, laundry, sweeping, but I pay for the deep cleaning and more intensive stuff and it’s a big time saver. There’s also usually a Roomba scooting around the floors somewhere. I probably do less than an hour a day of actual chores.
In theory, everyone will pick up after themselves as we go a out our day.
In practice, husband will mostly pick up after himself and I need to hound my son (8) all day to pick up or clean up this that or the other.
I tidy up areas throughout the day. Weekly I chose 1 room a day to clean. About every 2 days I do a load of laundry. Basically I clean throughout the day every day and yet the house is always a little messy.
Live by myself, a little each day. So, no dishes left in sink, bathroom tidy, floor swept, counters wiped down. Everything gets put back where it came from. If I take the 10 seconds to do the task immediately, I don’t have to do it later!
However much is needed. I try and spread it out throughout the week. “Chunking” my work, so to speak, so I don’t get too overwhelmed.
I clean 1-2 hours a day, including laundry. I use a priority list with de cluttering and the kitchen at the top. If the priority list is covered, I use that time to deep clean, mop, dust, etc. I do most of the household chores during the week cause I don’t have a commute. My husband cleans the kitchen every other night, and we split everything on the weekend. We are a household of 5 with two large dogs. 1-2 hours a day isn’t always enough to actually get any deep cleaning done that week, but I prioritize my mental health to avoid burning out. Whatever doesn’t get done just doesn’t get done.
I spend about an hour each day on cleaning and another hour or three on cooking, maybe a half hour doing laundry.
For me it’s towards the end of the week. I’ll tidy up the kitchen and bathroom daily but major chores are done Friday and Saturday. Sunday is my rest day – just chill.

I do a little every day so it doesn’t pile up like dishes daily, laundry twice a week and deep cleaning on weekends. Also, I do one chore each day like today will be the bathrooms, tomorrow will be the bedrooms. I segregate it so it doesn’t consume all of my time in one day a week doing just chores.
I spend around 20min a day picking up and maybe an hour on the weekend cleaning. I do 2-3 loads of laundry during the week (I work from home so it’s easy to throw a load in at the start of the day) and maybe a load on the weekend. We have someone come in regularly for the dusting/mopping/actual cleaning cleaning.
About 7-14 hours per week. I’m very messy and need to clean a lot or I’d go insane because the place looks like shit.
About an hour a day for myself, a bit more one day a week. My husband does most of the chores, lately, though. I used to do 100% of them, now more like 30%.
Dishes are the biggest thing. We have ants right now, so I’m doing them 3 times a day (my husband dries while I wash), so that’s maybe 40 minutes altogether. We figure we’ll replace our dishwasher in the next few months (hadn’t used it in 5 years and went to and it’s apparently broken).
Vacuuming twice a week (takes me 30 minutes for 2400 sq feet, takes my husband about 1 hour) and cleaning the bathrooms once a week (takes 20 minutes for two bathrooms).
Laundry is every 2-3 days. Actual work part is maybe 20 minutes a load – putting in washer, hanging up to dry, folding.
Dusting is an hour whenever I actually do it (my husband does most of it – weekly), washing windows takes 2-3 hours twice a year and we do that together. Mopping takes an hour once every couple of months, or spot mopping when needed.
We divide chores based on who hates what more. I actually don’t mind cleaning, though. My husband is pretty picky on the floors and does it 80% of the time. He hates cleaning bathrooms, so I do it 90% of the time. He also hates washing dishes and I don’t, so I wash and he dries. Neither of us hate laundry, so basically whoever gets to it first. Lately, that’s been him 75% of the time.

Maybe 1 or 2 hours once a week for sweeping/mopping/decluttering and then 30 min of dishes and wiping down countertops, cleaning up after cooking and throwing in laundry a day.
I clean every day for a bit maybe 30 minutes or so and one ish days a week for an hour maybe two. I love a tidy presentable space and refuse to live in a shitty messy home. That’s depressing, embarrassing and gross to me.
I do the bulk of the house cleaning, my husband cleans his own bathroom and office plus takes out trash sometimes and is responsible for all the yard care. I can tag him in for help any time and do whenever I might need to.
