Always got a book on the go. Like spy stories. Reading Moscow X. Set in Putin’s Russia. Well researched, I think.
I read all the time. Usually fantasy, historical fiction, sci fi, and books based around organized crime. Most recent was Dune Messiah and i would recommend the whole series thus far since I’m on Children of Dune. And I don’t really have a favorite genre, just an enjoyment for stories I find gripping, characters I find interesting, and worlds I find wonderous, which the Dune series has
If we talking books, comics, that kind of stuff then pretty rarely.
Everyday. Usually have one fiction and non-fiction on the go. Right now it is ‘Flashman at the Charge’ by George MacDonald Fraser, and ‘How long will South Africa survive?” by R.W. Johnson. I recommend both, the first is hilarious, the second hilarious in a sad way and also an informative look at what ‘equity’ looks like in action(hint: a disaster).
Daily. 45 min. It’s a 2025 new years resolution and I am 6 books in so far
Daily.
Fantasy/Sci fi, philosophy, martial arts and, of course, Terry Pratchett.
I read every dang day. Everything from horror, techno thrillers, some sf, to romances.
I tend to read ebooks because I can keep tons of them on my phone, but if we’re counting that I get through a chapter or three probably 2/3 days.
If I catch one I really like I get that thing where suddenly birds are singing after I said “just a bit before bed” lol.
Fairly often, do podcasts, needs alot of reading
Daily. I either take forever to finish a book, like 2 weeks, because it has many bad parts (usually when I read more amateur work) that make me take breaks or I read 10 in a week.
Can’t go wrong with Rothfuss, GRRM, Sanderson, Shusterman or Herbert.
I’m mostly into fantasy and a bit of Sci-Fi (and don’t mind books that blend those together). Typically, I’m at around 20-25 books a year. I try to read a chapter or two when taking the bus home from work, or a chapter or two before sleep, though not every day as sometimes I just want to let my mind go blank.
I was really into reading the Song of Ice and Fire, but then George R. R. Martin decided to be a big fat turd that didn’t want to finish it.
Making time to read books isn’t very frequent, I’ve picked up the 2nd book of the Stormlight series but only got about 100 pages in and last read it about a week ago.
One of my favorite books was Team of Rivals, which actually made me cry at the end…despite knowing the ending already. Probably read that one like 10 years ago.
I try to read daily. Sometimes I am too tired from work to do so, but nonetheless.
Between a wife, family, political activism, running a business, running (in general), networking and other social engagements I really don’t have any time to read. Reddit is about as much reading, in it’s bite size chunks, that I can fit in.
I read all the time but it’s never fiction or “literature”. It’s more about tech and science and such.
i read everyday, i’ve been readin ACOTAR, its basically a fantasy/ romance series. i mainly read fantasy, anything with elves, faeries, orcs, dwarves, and a lot of magic.
I read a fair number of history and nonfiction books. I like mysteries, general fiction, SF and fantasy. I also like nonfiction stuff like travel narratives or autobiography. Particularly if it’s funny or there’s some unexpected angle to it. A general fiction short story I read and liked was “Ransom” by Elizabeth Evans.
There was also 2017 SF piece called “Welcome to Your Authentic Indian Experience™” that I really thought about afterwards- I’m not always a fan of recent SF (and yes, 2017 is ‘recent’- remember how many people are still falling over about Dune, and that’s from 1965), but I rate this one pretty solidly.
