So I am 26f and have met this guy who is 29m.
We have been dating and everything has been going well and smooth. He’s so sweet and funny and caring. We also have so much chemistry. We speak on the phone every day and every night.
HOWEVER. I recently found out that he is fresh out of relationship. Tbh as we were dating and talking, it never dawned on me to ask about past partners. He told me that he was with his ex for four years but they both decided that it wasn’t going to work. They’ve only been broken up for about four months. He told me that he doesn’t talk to her or have feelings for her. He wants to continue to date me and says that he would like us to work towards being in a relationship.
As much as I would like to move forward, it does make me nervous that he is so fresh into a break up.
I am so scared that I am just a rebound. How do I move forward with this?

Give him a chance – he’s giving you one.
I was my wife’s rebound. Open and honest communication is a huge part of any relationship. Remember, men are not mind readers, so tell us what’s really going on. Sometimes we can be really dense.
Just see where it goes. If you don’t like it you can end it. Just be honest with yourself and each other
My advice is to hang in there. You should have some faith in yourself that there are plenty of positive qualities about you to elicit a genuine relationship.
It’s not wrong to be nervous and to me at least, given your connection with him and the way it sounds, you’re not a rebound. It seems like he really wants to make it work. Good luck
It’s not like they just broke up a few weeks ago. It’s been 4 months, and who knows how long before that he saw the end coming. I would take a comfortable timeline and make sure you keep your life balanced with friends and stuff, but I don’t think this is worth freaking out about.
