I journal my thoughts, set a time limit for thinking, then take a small action instead of spiraling.
Do a quick physical activity, a small walk or a run or just a simple stretch
You can try CBT cognitive behavioral therapy or therapy in general to learn to get out of your own way. A therapist may have other things like biofeedback and heart math, which help you get better in tune with your mind and body to slow down your overthinking.
The best solution to a “thinking problem” to me is a meditation practise.
The entire purpose of meditation is to create separation from your thoughts. Not to stop them completely, but to be able to observe them and let them pass. Over time, and with practise, you will find that your thoughts have less power and you feel more present more of the time.
Journaling get the thoughts out of your head.
I write everything down, make a simple plan, and set a timer to act on it.
sometimes I write in my head down, it makes the thoughts feel lighter. deep breaths and focusing on something small in front of me helps too
An app called Headspace
For me, the trick was giving my brain less “space” to spiral
What helped me was giving my brain a “parking lot”—I jot worries or ideas in a notebook, then tell myself I’ll revisit them later. Pair that with grounding tricks like naming five things you can see or hear right now. It trains your mind to shift from endless loops to the present moment.
Watch funny movies.
