How to relieve pain on bottom of foot… Need tips

r/

It seems like every time I walk around for more than 30 min I am developing this painful feeling that runs in the arch area (maybe flat feet?). The only thing that works now is getting off my feet, but with my job that is almost impossible. I’ve tried different shoes like Hoka and Timberland, but nothing seems to work.

Any ideas or hacks out there that might help!

That’s your body waving a giant red flag. It’s likely plantar fasciitis and ignoring it will only make it worse. Attack it head-on with daily arch stretches, frozen water bottle rolls, and real arch-support insoles or you’ll be limping into long-term damage.

Sounds like plantar fasciitis or arch strain definitely tough when you’re on your feet a lot! I’d suggest trying stretching exercises for your calves and feet, using orthotic insoles for extra arch support, and maybe icing the area after work. If possible, wearing compression socks can help too. Also, try to take short breaks to elevate your feet when you can. If it keeps bothering you, a podiatrist might be worth a visit. Hope you find some relief soon.

In top over suggestions, try ice packs and heat packs and interchange them

?? You need to see a doctor. They will diagnose you and from there you can treat it.

Freeze a plastic water bottle and roll your foot on it. Also a lacrosse ball! Got you!

I have a similar issue. I roll a golf ball under my feet and it feels amazing. I have never been able to cure it, just treat it.

I recently started wearing some pretty firm basketball shoes and it seems to help a little bit.

I see lots of people suggesting PF. I have PF in my right foot. The pain extends from midway through the arch into the heel. It feels very tight in that specific spot. I use a golf ball or a squash ball to roll out the tightness. Iced bottles also help. Also if you can get those jelly insteps that you can slip into any shoe. It helps take the impact off the heel and as a result puts less strain on the arch. For me It was very painful at first, but I’ve either become numb to the pain or these things are helping. It has been YEARS though. Does your pain feel like that?
This is what it is like for me and it may not be like that for everyone.

I started to get this during my years bartending, it was like someone was jamming needles into the bottom of the arches of my feet, it was terrible. I never saw a Dr, just started using the Dr scholls CF inserts, these are not the normal one’s you buy in a pharmacy, they’re the custom fit 3/4 length inserts. I use these every day now, can’t go without them.

I had shoes I forget if insole or outer sole was raised but it cured my plantar fascitis forever

    Orthotics for your shoes.

Podiatrist years ago told me for PF to get the best OTC orthotics I could find for my shoes to support my arches. Also to do exercises with my feet. I remember doing one that was basically like having a towel on the floor and grasping and pulling it toward me using my toes. I didn’t have to use a towel I could simulate the exercise. I had almost immediate relief and felt cured. I never used the orthotics though.

There are insoles for PF at Walmart. 2 sets for $23. The frozen water bottle should help, and with a Dr. note, you may get a few weeks off work paid by EI if you have been contributing.

Try arch supports, daily stretching, frozen bottle rolls, compression socks, and avoid going barefoot , could be plantar fasciitis.
