Hi all! I was convicted of DUI about 15 years ago (dozing behind the wheel and it was blamed on my legal prescription medication) and I haven’t been driving or had a license since. I was in a fairly traumatic accident (not my fault) not long after so I haven’t wanted to drive since but I’m finally feeling like I’m ready to tackle this and start driving again!
I would like to finally take the three months of classes but I don’t have any of my original paperwork or referral information. This is in San Diego county.
I honestly have no idea where to start and the DUI class place in San Marcos hasn’t returned a single one of my half dozen calls and multiple emails.
Do I need a copy of my court paperwork and referral information or can I just go and sign up and then give that info to the DMV? If I need the paperwork where do I get a copy of that?
I’ve done everything else to get my life in a place that I’m really proud of and this is the last thing I need to do to move forward now that I’m finally ready. Please help!
