How was your IUD removal experience and at what point was your cycle?

I had my IUD removed/replaced while on my period.
Compared to the insertion, removal was less overtly painful but felt… weirder? The best analogy I came up with at the time was the feeling you get when a pulling a nice long booger out of your nose. You know the feeling like you’re tugging on your brain? It felt like that, but in my abdomen. I’m glad I was lying down because it did make me a bit dizzy. Overall bearable, though.
Done in seconds, not painful, just a weird sensation.
I was on my period and it felt like a 2 second pinch, then minimal cramping for a few min after. Not even close to the pain of insertion!
Removed while on my period. No pain whatsoever. Insertion (also on period) caused slight discomfort (sudden, intense cramps that dissipated after 10 minutes). Colposcopy was legit painful
had mine taken out last month one week before my period. I was told to cough when she pulled it out because it would help push it out. I had a really bad cramp when it was pulled but that was as bad as it got.
Mine was removed surgically after it became embedded. I began menstruating again after about 5 or 6 weeks.
I had mine removed mid cycle. My GYN literally said 3, 2, 1 and then yanked it out. Removing it was less painful than putting it or the replacement in.

Well, it wasn’t as bad as my insertion but my strings had disappeared so I can confidently say I’ve had better afternoons. It hurt but it didn’t? It did feel like she had both her hands all the way up there.
I don’t know where I was in my cycle. My period had been gone for years.
Also they wouldn’t let me see it after it came out. I wanted to!
I had the copper one and I pulled mine out myself after a year of unbearable cramps and constant bleeding and my doctor telling me to wait it out. The doctor’s office was over an hour away for me at the time and I was at my wits’ end. I was already pissed to have the IUD in the first place since what I asked for was sterilization but all my doctor would offer me was the IUD since I was childless and unmarried. I think taking it out myself was kind of the breaking point when I decided to find a doctor that would sterilize me even if I had to travel across the country for the surgery. Thankfully it didn’t come to that and I found an awesome one near me. Tubeless and proud now.
Removing it was uncomfortable but nowhere near as bad as insertion and the relief was immediate once it was out. I just sat on the toilet, reached in and wrapped the strings around my finger, and slowly and steadily pulled down and it came out fairly easily. No idea what point I was at in my cycle because I have PCOS so my cycles are already irregular and I’d been bleeding for a year from the IUD.
