I (22M) want to break up with my boyfriend (23M)?

r/

Been together for around two months. He’s lovely and makes me feel calm, I sleep amazing whenever I see him.

Thing is I don’t feel romantic or sexual attraction in that sense, we are literally perfect together and talk soo much but there’s a chunk missing it feels. I know I don’t need ‘sparks’ or that drive and that this could just be healthy.

It’s been something I’ve been thinking about for a bit. I want to be in his life long term as a friend rather than a partner.

When someone flirted with him, I didn’t feel anything – I am pretty secure but I feel like maybe I should. I care about him a lot and cherish the time we spend together but i can’t help the feeling that it isn’t right.

It’s not that I want anyone else, I just don’t think we align in that way. I have a feeling he might feel a bit similarly but I’m unsure.

Listen to your gut. By the sounds of it it’s telling you to leave him but maybe it’s worth an open and honest conversation about your confusion just say something along the lines of
“I really really love spending time with you and I’m not trying to break up with you but I’m a little confused about my feelings right now and I was hoping we could explore that together”

You’re not literally perfect together if you are not sexually attracted to him. What you are describing is a good friend.

The whole point of dating is to figure out who your person is. Sometlmes the totally wonderful people who look perfect on paper just aren’t it. That’s okay.

Break up with him. Be clear that he’s great and hasn’t done anything, you just don’t feel the spark.

It’ll suck in the moment but that will pass. You’ll both be happier when you find who you’re looking for.

It’s been a weeks. We date to see if we are compatible. You aren’t feeling it. Move on. That’s how dating works.
