I ‘24M’ and my gf ‘24F’ broke up and I lost my friend circle in final year.

r/

I ‘24M’ broke up with my girlfriend ‘24F’ after she cheated, the duration of relationship was 3 years . I had two male friends ‘25M’ & ‘26M’ and we used to hang out together. The social circle is shattered, the two boys now hang out with my ex and one of them even asked her out . I am in my final year of college and peoples circles are already made, people have got their friends , and their girlfriends and now I stay in my room all the time. I don’t know how to make any friend again, those past friendships happened spontaneously when I had joined the college . Now I just feel stuck and don’t know how to wade through this situation. How to socialise again now that social circles and friendships are already built?

It sucks losing both a relationship and a friend group, but it’s not too late to build new connections. Join clubs, study groups, or campus events—friendships can form even in your final year if you put yourself out there.

I knew one or two guys from a set friend group (larger, about 10) and they just yeeted me in.

You should prioritize yourself since you are at college before anyone else. The two guys mentioned are your class/college mates, not your friends. True friends won’t do that shit. Also, she ain’t your concern anymore. So ignore that. She might move on quickly with a relationship but you need to move on with good career and education. Relationship follows.

Those friends weren’t really your friends, but as other comments said put yourself out there, join clubs, go to assembly’s, go to school games and events. Even complimenting people and helping people that you see could lead to a friendship

Honestly, you dodged a bullet with those friends. “Friends” that drop you after a breakup and try to date your ex are not worthy to have as friends. Getting yourself out there and actually meeting people is the only way to meet new people. There aren’t any new people in your room lol. Go join clubs or group activities. Find stuff you’re interested in, then see if there are ways to socialize while doing them.

Just don’t think about it too hard the more you think about the more anxious you’ll get, the way I made friends is just do what I did at school and then when a topic would come up that I’m interested in and that’s how I got friends

Just distract yourself with other things that make you happy

You’ll make new friends. They sound like losers and you don’t need them in your friend group. Just get out there and do the things you enjoy doing.
