I admit that I am uncomfortable with change, to that end, do we currently have the most progressive president ever?

r/

In slightly less than 2 months there have been 100s of changes made to progress the country in the direction of the current government’s vision… but isn’t that the kind of thing progressives do?
If you ain’t conservative you ain’t right, or are you?

No one with a functioning brain would ever consider Trump a conservative. The idea he’s trying to conserve any particular ideology or way of life doesn’t ring true to me. I can’t think of a time when Trump was strictly adhering anything, let alone to the ideological principles that defined past conservative movements.

Trump has a lot of views that many conservatives might not be in favor on.

I for instance I am for full abortion. Trump is not. I’m against weed. Trump is not.

Trump was a irreligious democrat most of his life.

Trump is not conservative and I have never voted for him.

The cultists who call themselves conservatives have lost their damn minds. I don’t like Steve Bannon, but at least he’s honest about what he is:

    And I’m a hard-core populist. I’m a hard-core nationalist. I’m not a conservative. I think conservatives are [expletive].

There are lots of people who claim to be conservative who voted for Trump. To those of you who did so: he thanks you for your service, and now he’s betraying every ideal you claim to have. Wake up. He has nothing but contempt for you.

The Bannon quote is from an interview with Douthat:

Trump is a populist, not a conservative. It just so happens that many of the popular positions, (two genders, secure borders, tough on crime, states and parents rights, prioritizing Americans) are more conservative positions.
