My first cell phone number was seriously 420-0769 but this was before you could transfer numbers between carriers when you changed. That 007 in the middle was wonderful.
As a non American please can someone actually explain why SSN are so private? I always thought they were like nation insurance numbers in the UK but idk who knows my NI number
If all of them indicated the state going by the first three numbers I don’t understand how ours could be different. Of five family members born in same state, three have the same first two numbers but the others don’t. None of us have the same first three numbers. I’m in a big state so maybe they had a range.
In a total freak coincidence a majority of my wife’s social security number matches her car’s license plate. She can’t tell anyone because they will then know.

That number’s probably been blacklisted from ownership
Hey why are you paying my SSN on the internet? MOD can you remove the post for PPI? /s
THanks to experian leaks this is probably confirmable!!
420-69-XXXX has never been issued as a Social Security number, so I think the point is moot. https://stevemorse.org/ssn/ssn.html

my last 4 digits are some very fun numbers and i’ve definitely told a few friends
That’s me! Dam, didn’t expect to see my soc security number appear in my feed. Should I report this post?
^/s
If there were a kid with that SSN, their first word would be “nice”
From what I understood the first three digits indicate the state in which a person was born
Is it yours? And is this your way of telling somebody. Sir, well done.
Mine sounds like one you would use as an example and I can’t tell anyone. Maybe I can and no one would believe me.
If it was issued before 2011, it would be for someone in Alabama.
As 420 is the group range for Alabama pre 2011.
69 (middle two) are for administrative purposes. And the last 4 are issued consecutively as applications are processed.
Post 2011, it isn’t spefic to a region.
The best last 4 you could ever have is 6977. The reasoning is that 77 is better than 69 because you get eight more… It’s a math thing.

I’ve often wondered if there’s someone with the SSN of 123-45-6789
I don’t understand, does this sequence of number bear some special meaning?
you can open business in Czech Republic, get a toll free business number and get a +420 80085 69 00
I think there should be an opt out for ss#. A way to simply detach it frim your life.
No, I don’t mean “just don’t use it” I mean gone.
The last 2 of my phone number are 69 I love verifying my number the chuckles are great
I had 911 in the middle of my number and all my high school friends thought it was cool to be able to dial 911.
Actually, why in America is such a problem to share your social Security numbers? Is it possible to do something just by knowing it?
Well, if they were born before 2011 then they would have been born in Alabama. So, chances are pretty good they probably did tell everybody.
I have been thinking this same thought for ages except finally now I have a funny 4 digit number to round out the 420-69. Thank you
Guys, I think I know what OP’s ssn is.
Now all we need is their name, and mother’s maiden name
my social starts with a “0” when the internet was still young I couldn’t even verify my social for a college application.
Quick, let’s all post our social security numbers, rendering the system useless.
My cousin and I were born 3 days apart in the same hospital. Her SOC is exactly 1 digit different than mine. Easiest identity theft of my life.
My license plate was FIN 8008. I giggled at the DMV, but sadly they did not get my 8 year old sense of humor.
