I bled on my bf’s bed and I think his father saw 🙁

r/

My boyfriend moved out of his dorm today and we celebrated by doing things in the city yesterday and tomorrow. My period has been very wonky the last six months because of my birth control and it’s been coming way more frequently, and it definitely isn’t predictable. My period tracker got it wrong and my period came four days early and I bled on my boyfriend’s mattress cover. He wasn’t thrilled but he didn’t make me feel bad or ashamed and we went to get cleaning supplies, but today his dad is help moving him out and the solutions didn’t completely wash the blood stains away and the cover is white and there’s a big chance his dad will notice. While I’m not embarrassed that I bled on my boyfriend’s bed; these things happen, it’s a bit mortifying to think of his dad noticing. He said he was gonna lie and say it’s something else, and the cleaning solutions reduced the size by a lot so it can be believed. Still, yikes.

It’s ok. We bleed. No shame.

His father has not only had relationships with women and seen a baby being born, he’s raised a son who is pretty casual about this. As someone who’s likely more of his father’s age than yours – he honestly likely will not care or think twice about it

If you do end up completely removing the stain, could you let us in on how? I’ve tried washing some off my sheets and it’s just perpetually stuck

It seems from post history you’re around 18/19. Experience is everything. When you’re intimate with your partner, throwing a towel down always helps, even in “just in case” scenarios.

It’s not a big deal. Trust me, his dad knows women get periods. Sheets are easily cleaned in the washer. Fresh/wet blood can be washed immediately in cold water. Dried blood stains should be soaked in cold water then washed. Alternatively, you can also apply peroxide directly to the stain to remove the blood, then wash in cold water.

He doesn’t care. And if he does, he’ll get over it. Women bleed, it’s a fact of life
