Just a realization I had. I have some men’s clothing in my wardrobe that I bought for myself because they were just more comfortable than women’s, the t-shirts didn’t have a short sleeve, the shorts were longer and had better pockets. Might not be news to anyone. But I find it a bit infuriating that even clothing is usually restrictive for women – tight, body fitting, short, with some cuts or deep cleavage. I am not against revealing skin or wearing tight clothes, I have a few articles or clothing like this in my closet too, though I wear them rarely. I am just annoyed that being uncomfortable is sort of expected and if you don’t want to be, then go buy clothes made for men. Rant over.

I feel the same. I buy men’s cargo pants, shorts, and swim trunks for the same reason. Also men’s swim trunks are far cheaper than women’s swimwear, and typically have Velcro pockets which are quite nice.
I bought an extra large women’s shirt because I’m tall and I have big boobs. The shirt fit like a wide crop top with very thin fabric. I bought a large shirt from the same brand in men’s and it actually covered my belly button. The quality of women’s clothes are just absolutely abhorrent.
Most of my clothes are from the men’s department–a big problem with women’s clothing is the incredibly high polyester content. I can’t wear the stuff, makes me break out in an itchy rash so I need 100% natural fabrics and it’s getting to where the only place I can find that is in the men’s section.
Another problem is with pants–I have a short torso and long legs, 34″ inseam. Try finding pants that fit in the women’s, not gonna happen. Now that they’ve figured out using stretch denim in men’s pants I’m happy as a clam at high tide.
Men’s clothing really IS better, probably because they know men won’t shop often and therefore need higher quality clothing that has a chance of making it through the wash a few times before disintegrating. Women’s “fast fashion” is fucking environmental cancer, I swear.
I usually do “typically female” types of sports (aerials, pilates, yoga), but have also decided to supplement it with some weightlifting. I only have a mixed-gender gym nearby and didn’t feel comfortable wearing the typical skin-tight clothes I usually wear, so I went out looking for some loose shorts. Ended up having to buy some in the men’s section, because there was nothing that wouldn’t go all the way up my butt crack in the women’s
cries in hips and butt
Whenever I buy graphic tees I get men’s. Women’s shirts these days are all cropped and boxy and they stretch in the wash, even ones that are supposed to be basic t-shirts.
Hey me too!!!
Same here.
