I am suffering from anhedonia – the inability to feel pleasure – as well as flattening of all negative emotions to boot. Instead of feeling a buzz in my head and the warm fuzzy feeling in my stomach when doing something pleasurable, I feel a permanent void or blockage in my frontal lobe. Ask away! 🙂
I can’t feel pleasure and my emotions are blunted. AMA

so when you’re eating something delicious versus something disgusting, you have same feelings for both experiences ?
Did you get tested for Mental evaluation for Psychotic behaviour?
[removed]
What caused it?
How did you get diagnosed? And what made you decide to actually get diagnosed?
I’m sorry if this comes off insensitive. But could you have depression? I had this but antidepressants helped quite a bit.
Stay strong ❤️
If this were to happen to someone else, what’s your advice for how to handle it?
Ssris?
Is your anhedonia being caused by medication?
Do you go outside and walk daily
Do you feel any slight relief after working out or getting sunlight
That’s great. Do you get sun and fresh air? How’s your sleep and diet?
Do you or have you ever self medicated or self harmed?
Does it influence your hability to enjoy, appreciate or evaluate arts (of any kind) ?
Dang, so you’re telling me when you eat a krispy Kreme donut, you get no joy from it?
Same
I have the same thing, for me it was caused by too long a period of stress and high cortisol levels due to anxiety neurosis. I got anti-anxiety and anti-depressant medication and it’s better, I’m slowly starting to try new things and I feel a little more from it. Good luck with your recovery!
Question.
What would you like to try to do but have never done it?
Someone asked how you got diagnosed and I don’t know if you answered fully. You said you got tested. What was the litmus test that made some say to you “ah, you have anhedonia “
Do you have a significant other?
Is it induced by medicine?
Do you think it’s going to be permanent? Has any of your treatments made it even slightly better?
