I don’t know how to enjoy life anymore.

r/

Getting injured, losing my job, sinking in depression it’s been some years of this. I did go back to school and chasing a degree, and constantly learning new things. I feel late in life…. At 34 at a university when I was making good money before. I’ll get a girl but my misery seeps thru after awhile into the relationship. Everyone is having fun, and living it up. I try to join them but deep down I don’t enjoy it as a thoughts are always in the back of my head.

I’m owning up and taking accountability for my life, and getting rid of the excuses. This was just a rant I suppose. Anyone ever get thru this?

I’d say it’s never too late to learn new things. And if you can get some counseling, I know my college provides that for free. Not saying yours will but maybe something to look into. I’m sorry that all of that happened.

Maybe start drawing? As a hobby, it doesn’t have to be anything specific. Abstract is where I go

You’re not broken, you’re rebuilding from the wreckage, and take the guts most people don’t even understand. Own your pain, use it as fuel, and remember even rock bottom is solid ground to rise from.

Don’t worry man I’m pretty sure everyone has been through this it’s just a normal part of life although it might seem like the world lost its color, but there is always hope deep down never give up on yourself even I’ve been through it and it was hell but I managed to get through it and you can too. Hopefully you see this and if you do I just wanna say you got this man.

Also just writing down your thoughts help. I was in a dark place in 2023 and talking about it or just writing about it helps.

It sucks now, but it won’t suck forever

Sorry you’re in this mental space at the moment, OP. This is an opportunity to actually start exploring more hobbies, passions, etc. to help you reconnect with yourself. Something that’s pretty cool about being human is that there typically isn’t a set end date for when we stop learning, so why not learn something new? Read books, watch documentaries, travel, join local fitness groups, etc. There’s got to be people, places, and things out there that can still ignite a spark in you! Of course, if you haven’t started seeking out therapy yet, I’d highly recommend that, too!

You’re spiraling 🌀 I’d recommend Uzumaki (2024). It talks about this in a more creative way.

Also look into this to help you figure yourself out
