I bet they move around a lot.

  2. Complex_Package_2394 Avatar

    How often are you there?

  3. disregardable Avatar

for a woman chipotle is 2 meals. eat half now and the other half later. exercising men need to eat that much for the gym or whatever.

  4. ForScale Avatar

They do a combo of eating less and/or working out more than you.

  5. oasis_eagle Avatar

many variables control this such as activity and basic metabolic rate. And obvs genetics has some role

  6. wtocel Avatar

It’s calories consumed vs calories burned. Some people have naturally higher metabolism and some people have to work harder to burn the calories.

  7. jambr380 Avatar

Metabolism is basically the only thing that matters. If you want to increase your metabolism, increase your aerobic physical activity. I’m in my 40s and I can barely eat enough to maintain my current weight. But that’s because of all the long distance running I do

While the two main factors are calories in vs. calories out (exercise), it turns out that what you eat can change the efficiency of your digestion (the calories in). So some of them might be eating less the rest of the day, might be exercising more, or might be focusing on a low carb diet the rest of the time.

McDonald’s used to fry all their fried foods in beef tallow.

    Now they use hydrogenated oils.

Weight is way more complicated than many people want to believe. Genetics is a huge factor, and we don’t really understand how metabolism works and is affected by the endocrine system. Please do not let young men who stopped drinking carbonated sugar water for two weeks and lost 20# convince you that what you weigh is a moral issue and you are the problem. The people who do that are smug arrogant bastards who will discover in their 30s that fat comes for us all. Eat a basically healthy diet, get some exercise and don’t let it ruin your mental health.

    > Do they eat nothing or rabbit food rest of day when I eat 2 other meals ?

Yes. I often only eat once a day, especially if it’s a treat like fast food. I find eating to be a chore so I’d never go through the ordeal of eating more than one whole meal in a day. If the meal wasn’t enough and I’m hungry later, I’ll eat whatever fills me up with the least effort, like cottage cheese or a banana.

  12. Sufficient_Cup2784 Avatar

Your eating more than you think you are. It’s something I just realized about my self a month or two ago. Start loosely counting calories and you will see what I mean. I thought I was eating the same or slightly more than everyone else, turns out I was eating an extra 1-2k calories everyday.

  13. Alpehue Avatar

Yep… they might eat more then you that one meal. But they won’t eat entire 2-3 meals + snacks later.

Genetics and excessive does matter as well, but much much much less then someone would like it to be.

  14. Azlamington Avatar

I too eat less than tons of skinny people. In fact, I don’t eat many skinny people at all.

  15. ForMyHat Avatar

There was an experiment done comparing 2 people.  They thought that one ate more than the other or something but to find out how much they were actually eating they tested it (urine test, I think) and they measured that the 2 women were actually eating different amounts

Most of body shape and size is genetic, people try hard to make it all about calories in calories out, but it’s a lot less in our control than we think. Someone who is naturally bigger can loose a bunch of weight starving and exercising, but the research is clear than for 95% or more of people who do that weight will come back plus more because eating too little slows down your metabolism. This is also a great example of why weight does not equal health, someone who is naturally thin could be extremely unhealthy because of their eating and exercise habits, while someone who is “overweight” can be super healthy if they are eating well and exercising.

    stop eating fat food

  18. Temporary-Pin-320 Avatar

Some people just naturally have a higher metabolism and break down foods much quicker and dont even have to work out to show skinny physique

On a regular basis they’re probably living a much healthier life than you, and that fast food trip is their treat.

They had a smoothie for breakfast and a salad for lunch, so eating 1200 calories in a single bowl is fine. Especially because they’re also going to the gym after they’re done and will have soup for dinner tomorrow.

The difference that a basic level of activity and veggie based choices most of the time makes is pretty incredible honestly.

Answer: There is a lot more to calories in/calories out than people are willing to admit. Your body chemistry, genetics, and gut microbiota.

You can see it in siblings. If one parent is very thin and the other heavy, some of their children will be lean and the others not.

One ABSOLUTELY must exercise and eat right, but it is in your best interest to speak with a medical professional and nutritionists to get advice that is custom for you. Do not believe the fads or the oversimplified sayings on the internet.

You don’t see how they eat 99% of the time. It’s not just 2 other meals. It’s what they eat the majority of the time. It’s most likely they only eat this way as a treat. They’re not eating this way every day. If you’re eating out at every or most meals it’s a lot different than say once a week. Also what do your two other meals consist of? If you’re having a big fried breakfast and a big lunch then yes they may be eating what you consider rabbit food for the other two meals. I tend to stick to two meals and a snack a day. And if I’m having a large meal for one of them the other is smeller/healthier

  22. Proof_Drummer8802 Avatar

I’m not skinny. But if I eat McDonald’s I eat almost nothing during the day. I mean if I had a cheeseburger and fries for lunch then maybe an apple or a yogurt for dinner and that’s it.

  23. Gotbeerbrain Avatar

Well for one, stop eating at fast food outlets. Did you ever check the calories, salt and fat content of their meals?

  24. Ok_Split_6463 Avatar

    Fast metabolism

  25. RopeElectronic4004 Avatar

It’s very simple. It’s about how active you are. I’ve never been above 165 lbs and really struggle to gain weight if I try to.

I’ve gone on a diet of milkshakes, cheeseburgers and other weight gaining food and haven’t been able to gain more than 5 lbs.

Non active People under estimate just how active , active people are. For active people it’s not a big day if they burn 3000 calories on top of what their body naturally burns.

If you run for 30 minutes in the morning, and play sports for an hour or two in the afternoon, you are easily burning 2500 calories that day.

  26. Sternojourno Avatar

I’d imagine the skinny people you are seeing don’t refer to vegetables as “rabbit food.”

  27. PofanWasTaken Avatar

I am skinny, and work out.

If you see me there, you see me one of two times a month (at max) i am there

  28. Pitiful_Blood_2383 Avatar

A chipotle burrito bowl can be like 1500 calories. Some people like me split it into two meals and that’s it for the day. If you’re eating that and two other meals yeah you gonna be bigger

  29. Flat-Product-119 Avatar

Maybe the skinny person is at the fast food place once a month and you’re there twice a week? You can’t draw any conclusions from some stranger you see eat one meal.

  30. Mrs_Gracie2001 Avatar

Genetics has far more to do with weight than most other factors. Our bodies just do not respond in the same way to food and exercise.

  31. ac54 Avatar

Everybody’s different. Only you can figure out what’s best for you.

  32. Megalocerus Avatar

How often do they eat at McDonalds?

  33. unfiltered_utterance Avatar

People don’t eat rabbit food lol

Also skinny people tend to put very conscience effort into maintaining a healthy lifestyle by choosing healthier food options and exercising

Plus I noticed that skinny people eat when they are hungry and don’t eat because they are bored nor do they just snack on unhealthy random things often

  34. D0lan99 Avatar

I beneficial genetics, but I don’t eat fast food more than about once a month. Fast food has hella calories but very little nutritional benefit.
