My parent’s house has been infested with roaches since forever. Humiliating and dehumanizing, but yea. So during middle school or early highschool it happened, I didn’t even feel it come in I think. Every now and then my ear would hurt so much and I just had to wait out the pain. I wonder if it was eating my flesh or my ear wax. Complained to my parents but idk I guess no one took it serious. But yea, one day I was cleaning my ear to see a small dead roach come out with it.
I felt kind of like trash after seeing that ngl. Like I guess this is real, I guess I am so filthy that roaches are all over me. I’ve had them in my hair, leg, even in my underwear. Swarming in the pribter in my room. Then they blamed me for not keeping my room clean. Like yes my room was messy but we all know our house is infested.
Another time another roach came into my ear while I slept. It was too big to stay in there though. I was screaming so they had to take me to the hospital to get it out. Cried a little and jolted every time it moved. It kept running into my ear drum to get out. Sigh.
They asked me if I wanted to see the dead to each in my ear, I said no. Mainly cause of humiliation cause they asked where tf a roach this size came from (I guess they knew it came from an infested house… ours).
I guess that’s why I have to ask people to repeat themselves so often cause my earring is a little fucked up in that ear. And you know, I didn’t feel super embarsssed of my home situation till I left it? Like now I be crying about it and some of the things I went through cause of it. Genuinely so dehumanizing

😅 roach spray and those colony baits exists. But a level of cleanliness must be maintained for it to work. I live in southern California and man! There are some HUGE RATS AND ROACHES in the homeless and druggy parts of town
New fear unlocked
I’m so sorry to hear that you felt dehumanized and humiliated. That must have been so difficult. At the end of the day, it’s not your fault that that happened to you. I’m glad that you were able to leave that kind of living situation behind. Onward and upward. ❤️
I get it, I had to live among roaches in high school. It was awful, no where felt safe or clean. My mom’s place is still very much buggy so I avoid it as much as I can. I also experienced the lack of medical/dental care and those consequences I’m still paying for.
Neglect is no joke, take care of yourself as much as you can.
This is nauseating. I’m so sorry this happened to you, I don’t have an experience anything like this but I can vaguely relate (terrified of anything with more than 4 legs now woo)
I am so sorry you are going through this. If you are able to get some diatomaceous earth powder please sprinkle some around the baseboards in your room and in front of your door.
Is there a reason your parents have not had a pest control company come in?
