I can’t stand people like that they give me coffee or offer me something and I say yes then they keep mental tabs. I always remember the little things they did for me so I do eventually pay it forward but to have a tab and hold a small grudge just don’t do anything next time.

I work off the karma principle, I do nice things for everyone and hope it gets returned back to me someday, but I don’t expect it.
Dude at work completely pissed me off last year, I still can’t stand the guy- I found out via a phone call from my sister that my dad was sick (he has passed since then), so I called my boss, trying to get a few days off approved with short notice. He said he’d do it if I could get coverage (due to my job we have to maintain two bodies here at all times and have a two week minimum notice for days off). I ask this coworker if he’s be willing to cover a day or two off for me because “I have some bad news family stuff going on”. He said sure, but “you owe me”. I was so fuckin mad about that I told him never mind and found coverage elsewhere. Like, even if my worst enemy asked me to do something for them because they were having family issues, I’d do it. I’m still heated about that to this day.
Also, I don’t consider this an unpopular opinion. Small favors or little things shouldn’t be counted up and saved as ammo for later. Doesn’t matter who it is. If I do a lot of nice things for someone repeatedly but they don’t do any sort of thing in return, I just stop doing those things. I’m a pretty nice person, but if I feel I’m being taken advantage of, I can shut that down right quick.
