I was waiting on the bus yesterday after work. There was a lady who was sitting. It sound like she was sniffling. But the pollen here is bad so I was sniffling too I thought she just had bad allergies.
All of a sudden I realize she’s not sniffling she’s full on crying. I’m not really good with this stuff. So I asked if she was okay. She turned to me and had two black eyes and a busted lip.
She didn’t speak English so I use Google translate to ask her what was wrong. She said her boyfriend did this to her. And she was sobbing and shaking.
I held my arms out and she basically fell into my arms. Poor woman cried so hard that she got my shirt wet with tears. I’m not used to people crying like this. So I just rubbed her back. She started shaking so hard at one time I thought she was having a seizure.
So I pulled out my phone and called 911. And I googled some stuff for her. About shelters in the area that will take her. I used to volunteer years ago when I was a teenager at a couple of shelters. So I sent them an email telling them her name and what she look like and what was going on. Hopefully they can help her.
I took her to the restaurant I work at and they gave her a sandwich, fries, and a drink. Also a gift card
I missed my bus but I wanted to wait around and make sure the police got there. They had a dude that spoke Spanish and talked to her. I think they were going to give her a ride to one of the shelters. She had a tiny suitcase with her. She gave me a kiss on my cheek and said thank you.
She’s been on my mind all night. I hope she’s okay

Wow, that was incredibly selfless and kind, and it’s truly inspiring to see someone go to such lengths to help a person in need, I mean, I can’t even imagine what it must have been like to see her so distressed, but you stepped up and did exactly what was needed, and it’s just… it’s really something. Still, I hope she finds the support and safety she deserves, because honestly, she’s probably feeling completely broken right now, and may her future be filled with peace and happiness.

People like you restore my faith in humanity. I can only imagine how much of a fucked predicament that woman is probably in. No English, probably a recent arrival to US & depending on this shitbag…quite possibly for everything. Maybe she had nowhere else to go. She was fortunate to cross paths with someone like you and not one of these heartless sociopaths out here that probably wouldn’t give her anything except a dirty look. Most people would not be selfless enough to sacrifice being late to help a stranger. I hope she is safe now wherever she is.

OP, you did a good and precious thing.
You may never know how she gets on, but I guarantee (as a dm survivor myself) I have never forgotten people who showed compassion and helped me… I’ll never see them again, but I do think about them. l’ll never know if my good thoughts reach them, but I will forever wish them well.

i dont know what the endgoal is with beating a loved one up? If you don’t think someone has human worth then at worst they’re a plant, you don’t snap plants because that’s just waste. What a weak person
