I always been close with my dad and not with my mum…my dad posted on instagram today that he has been diagnosed with lung cancer and total strangers have seen it before me…his child. My brothers knew it was only me who didn’t get told. He even put “my loved ones and I had a tearful day” as if I’m not one of his loved ones…How do i react?? do i tell him i know? do i wait to see if he ever tells me?
I just found out my dad has cancer from his instagram

Yes, reach out and ask what is up. IMO now is the time to start thinking in the most efficient terms, don’t play games.
He should have told you first because family deserves that much. Don’t wait and reach out now before distance grows.
Sorry you’re going through such a rough stuff. Your dad is probably in a mess and don’t know how to break this to you. It doesn’t mean that he doesn’t cate about you. Since y’re close, just hit him up straight, express that no matter what happens, you’ll be here. Finally, hope everything will get better.
He should have told you first but you have to appreciate that he is probably extremely upset and it is very hard breaking information like that to loved ones. My guess is that he’ll tell you eventually but I would sit him down and have a conversation with him. Don’t be angry with him because he is probably gutted by his diagnosis and doesn’t know how to emotionally deal with it.
