I knew it wasn’t her fault and my anger should’ve been directed at Ticketmaster for their shitty policies that have left me $5000 in the hole. I was condescending and demeaning. I told her that her English wasnt good (although it was truly difficult to hear what she was trying to say at times) I was just so enraged at my predicament that I took it out on some poor girl thats probably making $17/hour. I knew it was wrong but I couldnt stop myself. I feel terrible about it but I also feel lighter after letting out some of that frustration.
EDIT: Ok guys now that Ive had time to cool off, I called the customer service line back to apologize. The new agent I spoke with said they dont work in the same city with the agent but they did notate the apology to the account and sent an email to the supervisor of that city.

Go scream into the void, it’ll help
Long as you learned from your mistake. You’re probably one of the calls they use during training btw haha
What kind of sucker spends $5,000???
Now what if you made that lady kill herself? Like your berating her could’ve been the last thing that pushed her over the edge. I guess it would be worth it as long as you feel better, right??? 🙄🙄🙄
that is why we shouldn’t open our mouth when we are angry haha
This is one of my litmus tests to see if someone is a bad person. You’re a bad person.
Ticketmaster is evil.
Yeah, i worked at a call center, in a foreign country attending Americans, this happens every 2 o 3 calls, don’t worry, she’s probably use to it. It won’t help solve your problem tho
I work contact center and I’m a supervisor, all the frontline agents with “accents” come up to me crying with people like you on the back line, and you best be lucky you don’t get a supervisor that will read you to filth after what you just did.
Grownups stop themselves when they know they are doing something wrong.
Is it Ticketmasters fault or is it yours for not reading the fine print?
If you are going to spend that kind of money (or really any) you need to read every single disclosure and agreement terms that are given to you.
Also, Maybe learn from this experience on how you can better control yourself in the future.
It never hurts to try and apologize to the person, if you cant get to them directly you should get in contact with a manager and explain you would like to send your apologies to the poor customer service rep.
As someone who’s been in the line of work where customers yell at people who have no control over whatever your problems are, I hope you get what’s deserved. Disgusting behavior.
I’ve been on the other end of this and you can absolutely go fuck yourself. Seriously. Go. Fuck. Yourself.
Spending 5000 on a show in 2025 is something you deserve to lose 💔🥀
I’m a call center agent. I really don’t care when I get yelled at. Usually, Ill mute the line and put you on speaker so we can all tune in and laugh. My favorite was when a guy called me “a stupid little puke.” We laughed for days, downloaded it and turned it into a techno remix.
It’s my coworkers and managers I want to put through a wall. Customers are whatever. I get it, I’ve been there.
All these people in here calling you a bad person have the weakest shit lol. I know bad people, their biggest flaw is not losing patience with a CSR. Some of the stuff my company does, I’d be shocked if you weren’t yelling at me. Like the time our company encased 122 beer cans in someone’s wall and just left it there.
You feel lighter for letting out some of your frustration… on a minimum wage worker, trying their best to speak a language that’s not native to them. What a man you are
What concert was it?
nobody is going to feel bad for you here lmfao
honestly grow tf up. it’s not okay to “let out frustration” on another human being. then harping on their English … when they’re doing their best to work a job in a language not native to them… oof. you seem entitled and immature.
letting out frustration on another human being is just vile and gross. seriously reevaluate your life
I hope you’re ashamed of yourself.
Your bully behavior deserves that 5k fee.
You’re a bad person.
Have you ever been on the receiving end of that?
And if she’s outsourced, or has shit management they will count this against her.
You insulted her English.
She probably works harder than most people. Customer service at these fucking jobs is basically slavery.
Don’t think you’re not being judged, confess away, but you’re still a bad person.
Hopefully the guilt inspires you to never do it again. There is no excuse for racism though! Also, how the hell do you spend $5000 at Ticketmaster? I would at least check to make sure I had no scheduling conflicts, read the fine print, and purchase ticket insurance.
Any time I’m REALLY upset and need to vent, curse, cry, whatever on the phone with an agent I always start off with “I’m sorry, I’m really upset about X right now. Please know I’m not upset at you, just at the situation, and I really appreciate you trying to help me” and they immediately become super friendly and stay that way throughout the call.
If I curse, I make sure I use it in a way NOT directed AT them (ie “this fucking system screwed up…” NOT “can you fucking fix this?!”) and I make sure when addressing them I say please, thank you, and use nice language there. If I say something or do something that I over analyze can come off as rude I also immediately repeat myself from earlier “I’m sorry, I’m not mad at you I promise, I’m just really frustrated at the situation” and they stay sooo freaking nice throughout.
I’m a hospital receptionist. I deal with a lot of annoying people who are behaving badly and I give them a lot of space because they’re often really stressed, they might be unwell or in pain, someone they love might be unwell or in pain, and I’m pretty good at dealing with it. However, what those people don’t realise, is, I’m a person too. I get stressed and upset and scared. One day I was working while my 6 week old niece was in paediatric intensive care on the other side of the world with meningitis. The man who behaved badly that day made me cry. Letting off your ‘frustration’ might make you feel lighter, but it might have left her crying in her car when her shift finished.
I yelled at a waitress . Just once, I walked away. Then turned around to go find her. I apologized, my frustration was not her fault. Handed her a 20 dollar tip and walked away. She was very graceful and accepted my apology. We live and learn. I’m 61 now, I will always remember that day. And hope I’m a better person because of it.
Just remember, this is a confession subreddit. Not a judgement-free confession subreddit.
It sucks that you did that, but you did what you could to apologize. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect. I always take a moment and think, what if this was my kid, and someone treated them like shit for something they can’t control or for who they are. Please learn a lesson from this.
always spread kindness, we never knew what a person is dealing with in life..
I’m amazed you got to talk to someone… like genuinely!
A few years ago I purchased pretty expensive event tickets, got double billed, couldn’t get thru on phone (message sends you to recording telling you to use online chat). Lost nearly $2k.
You lost me at Ticketmaster. Now if you had said that you were struggling to make ends meet and it was a utility bill or some unforeseen charge that would impact your ability to pay the other living expenses then I’d understand but no one forced you to try to buy tickets for some event when others in the world can’t afford groceries than IDC you were not justified in your actions but I do appreciate that you show remorse for making someone else say shittier than it already was. You never know what someone else is going through
Ticketmasters soft monopoly is wack, and you deserve to yell – but i’m sorry to hear you yelled at a civilian.
This is what corporations do. They screw people and then hire people with poor English in other countries to serve as a battering ram for your anger. It’s sick.
If you think that person is making $17 an hour thats the most absurd thing I have seen on this site today.
