It’s not my favorite pastry in the world but it tastes good enough. The slightly sweet, rummy taste plus the fruits and nuts just hits the spot for me. If someone gave me a fruitcake for Christmas I would polish it off 10 times out of 10. I don’t get why it’s stereotyped as a disgusting Christmas present.

Yeah, I made some for their first time this last Christmas and I liked it a lot! I like the super dense texture and how boozy I made it.
