I (F15) lost my mom’s diamond necklace on Monday going to school. It was on my skirt and i fell asleep on my mom’s car. When it was time to get off, I got off as usual and nothing felt wrong. This is likely the place where my necklace fell onto the street near my school. It’s been almost a week since then and I have been looking everyday but only a quick glance since i didn’t want my mom to get suspicious. I have no idea how to tell her as it is quite valuable. Im so guilt ridden and i know she would be very upset at me. Should i go back tomorrow morning to try and in depth find it? Im trying to convince myself its still there, but the chances someone already has it is so high.
I lost a necklace and i have no idea what to do

Why is this even a question?? Do what the fuck you feel is right. 🙄
This is awful. Tell your mom ASAP. Honesty is the best policy.
If you’re able to get to the location safely and have a really good look foe the necklace then try that but you’re probably going to have to tell your mum. She might be upset but she will appreciate your honesty. Maybe you could look together or your mum might be able to make enquiries. Sometimes good people hand things in to the police. Good luck.
Tell your mom asap, the nacklace was probably insured and she will be able to make a claim.
Have you looked in the side of the car seat, between the coshion etc?
I once lost my bracelet. I didn’t even know where I lost them. Later my husband found it when he was cleaning the car. So could be a possibility.
If not, come clean. Everyone loses accessories, it happens.
I wouldn’t wait until tomorrow morning. I would tell her right now what happened so you can both go back and look for it. There’s a good chance someone found it and turned it in.
I’ve lost my purse a couple times and was convinced it would be stolen, but was extremely relieved and grateful that someone turned it in to the lost and found at the store where I lost it. Most people are honest. Also, I would guess a lot of people don’t have any use for a diamond necklace and would just turn it in. I would definitely turn it in, if I found it because I don’t wear diamond necklaces.
You also might look in the Classified Ads, if you have a local paper. There are also neighborhood pages on Facebook where someone might post it. Another option would be to look at local pawn shops because some people might take the necklace and pawn it.
At any rate, the sooner you start looking, the more likely you are to find the necklace. There’s no point in pretending it didn’t happen.
Go back and really search you may just find it. Search the sidewalk area and any bushes or grassy areas around it. Put up a notice at school after you’ve searched. Just ell them you’ve lost a necklace that means alit to describe it but don’t mention its expensive and offer a reward. Maybe if someone found it they’d take a reward of even $30.00.
But most importantly don’t say its worth money just say it was a gift from a friend that moved away and you both have one and you need to have it back because she’s coming for a visit.
To get the reward money have a little yard sale of things you don’t use anymore. If you don’t find it or get it back tell your mom it could be insured and can be replaced.
Search that whole area really well, jewelry is light it can flyaway quite a distance.
Have you’re yard sale to raise reward money, don’t say its worth money just thT it means alot to you.
And you have to tell your mom but try find it first. Also search in the car it could have dropped under the seT search all sides of the area where you got out even towards the back seat. If you’ve done all that and haven’t found it you have to tell you mom.
I really hope you find it . And never take or borrow anyone else’s jewelry again, it’s just to much responsibility and guilt if you lose it Best of luck I’ll say a prayer that you find it again.
Let’s hope it was only a cubic zirconia necklace for your sake ! 🤞🏻 💎
