I may be single forever, but I’m going to become the best version of myself

r/

I’m 22 and I’ve never gotten any attention from women. I’m not sure why, it feels like I’m missing something that most other men have, or not understanding something that other men understand. Anyway, I’m starting to think there is a very real chance that I’m going to stay single forever.

Recently I said screw it, if I’m gonna be single forever, I’ll at least be the best version of myself that I can be. I’ve been going to the gym three days a week for the past month. I went in barely able to lift 50lbs, and I’ve currently made it up to 80lbs. I’m also planning on starting to expand my hobbies beyond gaming. I want to get back into guitar and maybe try some new stuff. I also want to try to spend more time away from home this summer, maybe try to go out with friends or something, just to get more social experience outside of school.

If I am really doomed to be single, I’m at least going to be my best possible self.

Honestly, this is such a beautiful conclusion to come too! I wish you nothing but good vibes, earned confidence in yourself and your skills, and excellent humans (platonic or romantic!) in your life going forward.

That’s the spirit! Gym, new hobby’s, more socialising, that’s the trifecta right there

I get a lot of attention from men and you realize fast you’re really just for consumption and nothing else. Two sides to each coin.

Funny thing. When I made the exact same decision as you I met my current girlfriend.
Turns out when your attitude towards life changes the world somehow is more cooperative.

You’re only 22. Trust me (I’m 60), you haven’t even begun to taste what life is like

But, I can assure you, your plan of self-improvement guarantees a much, much, richer experience.

Gaming is not real life. It’s just sitting in front of screen, while fake images stimulate areas of the brain to elicit neural impulses similar to those found in the real world

Dude, yes!! I just turned 30 late last year and wish I had this approach to life much sooner.. you nailed it. My life has been on a consistent uptrend since I came to the conclusion I needed to focus on myself and grow. I quit smoking pot, stopped playing video games as much, I stopped watching porn, focused on the gym and lost 30lbs and gained significant muscle in the last 8 months, feel more comfortable interacting with people especially women.. I’ve even seen an improvement in the music I make which is my passion. I started applying for jobs that I wouldn’t have otherwise and got a call back to do an interview for job that starts at $100k(im prior military).

Don’t expect it all to happen at onceand keep an open mind about things you’re not good at and find ways to get better at them, like simple interactions with folks, exercise techniques, whatever! At 22 you have a good ways to go yet, but don’t let that discourage you. I am so happy for you brother because I know how much brighter life has felt since coming to this realization on my own and I hope that you begin to feel the joy that life can bring you just as I do now.

Keep it up in the gym, that is one of the absolute most important things you can do for yourself especially this early on. I really wish I took it more seriously at your age. Seriously if there is only one thing you stay consistent with out of everything you mentioned, the gym should be as close to the top as possible. Follow some good workout instagram profiles to learn to workout proper and study nutrition and how to build your physique with good diet. In 1-2 short years your appearance alone will be enough to get attention from girls.

Also learn how to talk to women, they’re very complex but somewhat easy to understand at the same time..nonetheless if you try rawdogging interactions with them you’re going to mess it up til you learn the hard way.

Sorry to vomit that all at you at once, I’m just genuinely excited for you. Good luck on your journey. Feel free to message me if you wanna k ke more, I’d be happy to help

Did the same thing at your age (I was actually a year or two younger)

    Happily married now!
