I missed work to play pokemon go

I missed my friend today and then decided to share this story…

In 2016 I had an part-time job in tech, was a junior role but quite well paid. I became addicted to pokemon go, and would play anytime I had. In one day I took an Uber to go to the office, but arriving there at the gate I decided to go to a park where I knew squirtle were spamming, because I really wanted a blastoise.
Was a sunny nice day at the park and turns out a close friend that I didn’t see in 2 years was there also chasing pokemons, we hugged and talked for a minute and said how much we missed our school days and how we should get the school gang to meet again sometime.
That was the last day I saw my friend, he passed away a month after that.
I don’t know what it was but I strongly belive that the reason why I missed work that day was bigger then pokemon.
I did got into a little trouble for missing work that day, but I honestly don’t regret it, I got to say goodbye for my friend one last time.
