This happened when I was about 13 years old walking back to school from a PE (gym) lesson which we did outside of school in a sports building. For some reason me and a group of 4 other odd 13 year olds randomly decided to talk about if being bald would be good or not (don’t ask what lead up to it). So they were saying some random = funny benefits like “being reflective” or whatever until I decided to chip into the conversation. As the group of 30 students were leaving the building I blurted out quote “you could easily pretend you have cancer”. Little did I know the teacher was standing right infornt of me (coincidentally he was bald). He dragged we to the side and told me off infront of everyone why what I said was wrong. Its been years and I haven’t lived it down since.

Why would you wanna pretend to have cancer tho
Sometimes, we say stuff without really seein’ the whole picture, ya know? Ain’t gonna sugarcoat, it was a messed-up thing to say.
You can have cancer without going bald..
Teen brain plus dark humor equals instant regret. You learned the hard way and that counts. Own it, be kinder now, and let time turn it into a cringey story you tell on purpose.
You are just utilizing those critical thinking skills that no one will shut up about. You’re doing great.
not gonna lie, 13-year-old you was kinda an ass lol but hey, we all say cringe stuff when we’re kids. But tbh it’s key awkward moments like these that remind us to stay sensitive and respectful. Growth is important no matter how embarrassing the lesson is, ya know? P.S. cheers to your bald teacher for puttin’ you in check. 😂
I think what the teacher did and said was far worse than what you said. He was a mature man and he should not have shamed you that way. He could have spoken to you in a civilized manner, making a much more positive impression on you. Some of those positive lessons stick with you just as long, but for a totally different reason.

13 year olds say stupid things without any bad intentions or really thinking it through. Adults correct them. This is as a whole what keeps society going. I wouldn’t think of it too much
Munchausen Syndrome
The teacher kind of did you a favor.
Kids sometimes say stupid and insensitive shit. Like you did.
Adults should not hold grudges over these stupid things, but they should act like it’s fucking horrendous. Because it makes them into better adults..
