I didn’t break and laws or steal anything, but I still feel guilty and stupid about the incident. My GF and I at the time took a trip and it was known that I was going to propose to her on the trip. We got into a big fight before our dinner. That’s when I was planning on proposing to her. I wanted everything to be perfect but she got a little drunk and fell asleep. It was hard to wake her up. Well, after our fight, she went into the bathroom to get ready. I felt really bad for how everything played out, and I felt the dinner proposal was too predictable. So before she got out of the bathroom I was on 1 knee and had the ring out. It was a nice moment, but we haven’t told another soul. If people found out the proposal happened after a bathroom break, they’d laugh. That was 20 years ago.

20 years – maybe you could “set things right” by proposing again to renew your vows?
My husband and I had been play-fighting about how he hadn’t done it yet and I was on the phone with my mom and I turned around and he was on his knee. We were squished between a washing machine and a trailer wall.
Ha, that’s great. Cause I proposed to my wife IN the bathroom. As she was getting ready to go out with me to my boss’s going away party, came up behind her, put my arms around her, and had the ring box in my hand.
Anyway, we’ve been married for 6 years now, and kid 2 is due on Monday!
