Spend that money somewhere else please. You’re spending ungodly amounts on a camera and then again on storage because raw 8k footage is chonky, only for people to watch it at 720p because they just don’t care.
Spend the money om things that actually make your channel enjoyable to watch. Some of the most legendary videos on the internet are like 540p laptop webcam quality and people still love them.
And then if you do insist on wasting money on expensive cameras, don’t mention it every 3 seconds. If the quality is as good as you say it is, it should speak for itself.

I appreciate when YouTubers film in 4k because I watch it in 4k when I can
Future proofing, ever watch an old YouTube video? Looks like trash
Kinda sounds like you’re more annoyed that they can afford the gear than anything else. Yeah, most people watch in 720p, but creators investing in quality equipment isn’t a crime it shows they care about their craft. good visuals and crisp audio do make a difference, especially as more creators flood the space. Shooting in 8K might be overkill for now, but it gives flexibility in editing (like cropping without losing quality) and helps future-proof content. Plus viewers do notice the difference. I’ve never understood the whole “don’t flex” mindset. If someone’s proud of what they’ve built and the tools they’re using to level up their content, let them shine.
Unless you’re struggling for bandwidth, there’s no reason why every video you watch shouldn’t be at least 1080p. Anything lower looks like garbage.
Expectations for resolution have also gone up. Sure, a video in 2011 at 480p wasn’t as noticeable, but try posting that now and see what happens. Everything is a product of its time.
4k looks much better on a 1080p screen, than 1080p.
