I snooped on my husband for the first time ever… and got candy instead of chaos

r/

So my husband and I have been together for 5 years, married for 1 (October 11th, we just hit that milestone!). I’ve never gone through his phone or email—just feels like a weird boundary I’ve never wanted to cross.

But the man used my phone to check his email and didn’t log out. I don’t know what came over me, but curiosity got the best of me and I peeked. Searched for “Bumble,” “Tinder,” “Blindr”… you know, the usual red flag suspects.

And what did I find?

Cancellation emails. From years ago. Back when we first got together. My heart stopped for like half a second before I realized what they were, then I just kind of laughed at myself and let out the biggest sigh of relief. 😮‍💨

I told him about it when he came home on his lunch break, fully ready to admit I was nosy for once. He looked at me, dramatically stood up, pulled out his phone, and said he was calling the cops for a citizen’s arrest because I violated his rights. I was this close to laughing myself into next week.

Instead of handcuffs, he pulled out a bag of Reese’s from Dollar General—my favorite—and said they were on sale since it’s October 1st.

So yeah, I invaded his privacy and got chocolate. Wouldn’t recommend it as a habit, but it worked out this time.

Not all men cheat. Some of them just buy you candy and make dumb jokes when you confess to light digital trespassing.

This is honestly the most wholesome felony I’ve ever read 😂 you went looking for drama and got Reese’s and dad jokes instead—10/10 plot twist. Love that he handled it with humor too. Y’all sound like a solid team.

Surely if you trust him you had no need to search through his emails? Just as if he trusts you he wouldn’t do that to you.
