Me: small woman, sitting hemmed in by 3 men in those bench seats on the subway that face each other. Their knees were penning me in and someone needed to turn sideways to let me out. Despite my standing and saying excuse me at the next stop, nobody would move.
So I stepped on their feet to get out. That is all.

I hope you also rammed into their knees, hard.
I can think of somewhere my knee might have collided with when I lost my balance as the train lurched
This is the way. If they won’t be polite, neither should we.
This is when chronic IBS comes in handy
Once I had to squeeze past a group of people to exit public transit and someone’s hair got stuck in my lip gloss and I wanted to die
acting like I’m about to puke always works for me 🫡
oh hell ya…I love it!
YAAAS.
As a wheelchair user I’ve admittedly caught some toes as well when people purposely wouldn’t move. If I tap an arm and they ignore me, well, I tried.
If someone doesn’t respond to polite attempts to get them to move, I will walk straight into them.
Delightful.
Oh I love you for this
Never stay seated when a man crowds you. Jump up with energy and MOVE. Push if necessary, say “Let me out!” loudly, do what you need to do to get away.
Men take advantage of women’s and girl’s social expectations to be peacekeepers, to not make a scene.
Do not absorb the discomfort a man creates. Give it back to him.
I have done similar. I know I am soft spoken so sometimes people don’t hear me right away. I try to say something twice. Since I am a bigger girl, I don’t step on feet or I might break something. I shuffle my feet hard on the floor and kick their feet out of the way.
This is why they invented heels!
