I am Jewish and so was the community I grew up in. My whole life I was taught about Israel as this ancestral homeland. After October 7th, I felt so hurt by the harm that occurred to “my people”. I was told by religious leaders this was an attack against Jews. I volunteered and helped out with multiple pro-Israel events. It took many, many months for me to realize what was actually going on. I don’t think I can ever be forgiven.

What was it that finally did it for you?
Take that feeling and use it to educate people who aren’t there yet. Redemption is possible.
If you knew then what you know now you would have moved differently- don’t be so hard on yourself.
Use this to educate others. You are not a bad person for being misled, you are only human 🙂 what matters now is what you do with this info.
I’m proud of you!! Overcoming parental brainwashing is not easy.
You’ve fallen victim to the propaganda. Don’t abandon israel. Netanyahu is not Israel and israel is your homeland. It’s the only place in the world that would accept you with open arms. Go talk to your rabbi.
You should talk to your rabbi about this not Reddit
I have immediate Muslim family and am prevalently pro-Palestine. Please believe me that blaming yourself won’t help anything. Everybody has the power to change and better themselves and you did. You can’t go back and change the past, so don’t blame yourself for mistakes Past You made. you learned, you grew, that’s all you can ever hope to do.
Jarvis, I’m low on Karma
Everyone has room to grow, you made the decision to allow yourself to see past the Zionist propaganda. For that you should be proud and not beating yourself up 🩷
Damn that’s crazy you figured that out when your entire country is saying the opposite
Don’t worry, it’s not a "genocide," it’s a war that could end tomorrow if the bad guys who started it–Hamas– gave back their civilian hostages.
Should the people of Gaza have suffered lower casualties for electing Hamas to start this war?
It doesn’t seem like Israel has achieved deterrence against future attack yet, so the idea of excess is illogical
Well good thing there’s no genocide going on 🤦♀️
I am proud of you, instead of putting on blinders, you realize what what happening. Most people are too proud to admit they are wrong….
The first step to solving a problem is recognizing there is one.
