Maybe the average song or film is pretty mediocre, but I think the best of the best are often contemporary. Most of the time if I see someone complain “there are no good songs/movies/games anymore” it’s just people refusing to explore, or they just want the comfort of the familiar.
I think art is more accessible and thus more experimental than it’s ever been and I think that’s great. Much lower skill floor, much higher skill ceiling.

Yeah it’s almost like technology is advancing and young filmmakers and musicians are learning from past filmmakers and musicians
The reason why older art becomes popular and nostalgic, is because they forget all the garbage that came out, and it becomes lost over time, and only the best remains and is still talked about.
