The person is giving away a prize (worth $3k USD).

I’ve expressed to them that I’m pretty sure this is illegal. They arent a non-profit or anything. They insist that “its a sweepstakes. Totally legal” but I dont think it is. I’m not sure what to do. This person has a lot of followers and many of them are teens and young adults. No it isnt Mr. Beast. Do I report them? Do I just ignore it? Obviously theyre making money from this and they will definitely give away the prize but its still not legal.

I was always under the impression that a “free” way to enter must be provided. Those methods, however, usually consisted of sending a “self addressed stamped envelope”, and they would send you tickets to fill out. But you could only have one entry per envelope, so “free” really meant the cost of two stamps.
Is there fine print on the website?
Not sure why you’re hiding who’s behind this but there are lengthy official rules linked on the website, including the “no purchase necessary” instructions of how to enter. There is no issue here.
