I worked at Planet Fitness for about 9 months last year and set up a Black Card Membership account for myself since all employees get it for free. For those that don’t know, it is about $25/month and has some pretty cool perks like discounted drinks, massage beds, and red light therapy.
When I was an employee, no managers were around as I was setting up my account, so I set my membership to expire in 2034. So, as long as no one notices, I will have a free membership for the next 9 years 🙂 I’ve been using it 3-4 times per week since January.

Um….you do know they use cameras and other systems to monitor the staff computers right? That was straight up theft. If I were you I’d play dumb and make some explanation like you were trying to cancel in 2024 not 34 or something.
I used to work at planet fitness and another massive state gym company. I guarantee despite your account’s expiration date they will still cancel it. Because if it’s an employee they don’t go by “expiration date” because how tf would they know when the employee would no longer be employed there?
Or if they’re lazy, they won’t cancel it.
I used to work for General Electric. At that time, it included a fair number of perks. As I would travel sometimes that gave me a Hertz gold membership. When I left it was never cancelled. Used it for years and felt no guilt.
Franchise, schmanchise…
Your secret’s safe with me, for now. Planet Fitness does have cameras and monitoring systems in place, so you’re probably skating on thin ice here. That being said, if the axe eventually falls, you can always claim you were planning to open up your own gym in 2034 as a cover story. Just don’t expect me to vouch for your entrepreneurial spirit… or lack thereof
Twenty five a month is a little steep. Having to pay back 25$ a month for nine years is a lot more expensive.
Just fyi this is illegal
Not to make you nervous but i am currently the GM at a franchised gym that is well known. Every few weeks I will stumble across an account that the old manager had set up off the books for this or that reason. I report them to the owner, not to be a narc, but I’m not losing my job because the old manager thought that he could give away memberships to his friends and pretty girls. That being said, I would not be surprised if when your “membership” runs out they will check your log in dates and see you were still using it and compare it to your last working day and depending on the owner of that particular gym, he might come at you for the back costs of that membership. Be careful. I would try to delete my stuff outta there and never go back.
if you get caught imo just play dumb lol. U can say you didn’t know it wasn’t allowed because they never requested it back.
