wierd title ngl, but yeah, I (16M) want to be active in class, I enjoy reciting, answering the teachers questions, debating with them, raising my hand to answer, I like doing that. BUT, im afraid my friends will say things like “hes just doing that to be favored by the teacher” or “hes just showing off” but no, i really dont, i just like being active, and I hesitate since, my friends think this way and I dont have any other friends.
I want to be active in class, but I’m afraid.

I mean if your ‘friends’ are going to belittle you for stuff like that, are they really even your friends to begin with?
Public appearances should never influence your decisions, especially to become a better learner.
I know that it may be hard to find other friends, but in reality are those the people you really wanna associate with those who discourage learning and growth?
I’m also about to give you a gold nugget of advice: you are better off alone than with the wrong people…
I’m also gonna tell you from experience nobody cares who you are after high school, none of it matters.
The biggest regret I have at that age was not being myself and following public appearances and what my friends believed.
I understand that it is scary but taking those risks and challenges now will teach you so many good lessons 🙂
even if you were “just doing that to be favored by the teacher” or “just to show off” then there would be absolutely nothing wrong with that because its one way of getting the great you want. if someone asks you, just claim that you do all of this knowingly and intentionally. customer supports also always act nicer than they actually are… well at least they should.
thats some stupid cliché. what kind of a world do we live in where you get judged for being a GOOD student. keep it going and speak, i wish i had done the same but i had the exact same problem as you lmao

You’re 16, own your interests. Your real friends will appreciate your enthusiasm.
