I was brought up as a Jehovah’s Witness and truly believed the world was going to end, AMA

I started waking up to the brainwashing when I was 19, fully awoke at 24, and managed to run away across the country when I was 25, over ten years ago now. The JWs are a doomsday cult. They destroy families. They stopped me from going to university. They stopped me from discovering who I truly am. But more than that. The brainwashing meant I truly believed I was never going to get old or die. I’m in a such a wonderful place now compared to where I was, but accepting getting older has been very hard. Now I look forward to the future, and I embrace the grey hairs!
