Hi, I’m an international student here in Australia, originally from *ussia. When I was 18, I was committed to a psychiatric hospital in St Petersburg where I was studying at university for depression. I thought I’d gotten better and had convinced myself that I was just being lazy, so I left for Australia to study.
Then, at 19, I was admitted again to a psych ward here in Sydney for depression again.
I want to emphasize that, while I do have a keen interest in mental health and psychiatry, I am in no way a professional. I am an aeronautical engineering student.

What were the biggest differences between the Russian and Australian psychiatric systems, from a patient’s perspective?
How bad did you f*** up to get admitted for depression in a country that IS depression?
What happened that someone identified your case as serious enough to admit you to a psych ward in both of those instances?
Given as you admitted yourself to the hospital each time, do you have any regrets about either of them?

Can you voluntarily leave in those countries? What meds are they giving you? Do they calm you down with benzos or do they just shoot your ass up with antipsychotics?
whoa! are you doing better mentally now? hopefully you are <3. what is the worst part about the psych ward in russia vs Australia? the best part?
Why are you depression and you are so young and are you mess something out in life.
I seen in another comment they hit you with the booty juice. Did they keep you that way the entire stay or did you escalate a situation in the ward resulting in a one time hit? Did your depression develop over time or just happen all at once?
oh my goodness, I hope you’re feeling a bit better now!
I’ve been in a similar situation literally last month… also Russia, but MSK :((
except that I didn’t consent and I spent 2 weeks in a psych ward over a false alarm
you are very strong for surviving all this 💗🥹
Do you believe east europeans are less empathetic people… deep down?
I am also a Slav and I feel that way btw.
