My mom was really successful in a business she started when she was 23, and was able to retire at 35. I was given some of my inheritance when I turn 18, and am now 25, but will assumably get a lot more when my parents pass.
I was given over a million dollars of inheritance AMA

Fucking luck.
What would you like to do now since money doesn’t seem to be a concern/issue?
Will you give any of it to charity or people who need it more than you?
What an amazing gift your parents have given you! Have you pursued an education and what do you have for fun?
In those 7 years into how much did you turn that million?
Invest in your financial education. Talk to a lawyer to set up a trust, financial advisors on setting up a portfolio to invest and tax accountants depending where you live. Don’t tell any of your friends, unless they’re also rich.
You can live off the interest and never touch the principle for the rest of your life.
All in rddt
Can I have a tenner?
What type of business was it?
Thanks for this post, currently on my way to square up with my parents.
Congratulations
Can I borrow 10 bucks?
The advice is never touch the capital. It is the machine that will make you money.
Can I have some?
What business did your mum start at 23!?
Favorite kind of cheese?
How do you spend your time? What do you do for “work” and for fun?
What business was she in
You might consider changing your profile picture to be more anonymous.
Do you plan to do anything with that money to help your community?
What charities do you donate to?
So you are expecting to find yourself soon where I am — retired, not concerned about money, but also not dead. In fact, quite lively. Desire for purpose does not go away just because the purpose is not tied to earning a living. What is your thought about yourself in that regard?
I consider myself at an advantage, frankly, because I’ve had almost triple your lifetime to explore and understand myself about this question. Mistakes are easy, and the consequences may be pretty disruptive, though there’s always something to be learned from them.
Maybe it’s a test from your mum to see how you manage the million before she can trust you with tens or hundreds of millions. Good luck.
May I have 100 bucks please?
If you could go back to 18, would you choose to inherit the money again, or would you have rather not. Do you think it has altered your outlook on life, to the point it could impede your personal progress in terms of goals and livelihood?
Her responses in this AMA have left me speechless. Be prepared to be let down if anyone else asks a question and she responds. Best of luck to you with your future.
What kind of business did she do?
10,000 would be nice. Thanks
I get the feeling OP will not be able to handle and grow this money in the slightest
