My mom and I lost our apartment in 2016 when our landlord died and her family wanted to sale the building so they evicted everyone including us. I had no choice to surrender my cat Darth to anti cruelty because I didn’t want him to feel the harsh Chicago Winters. Most of our family disowned us or did very little to help us.

How did you get out of the cycle?
When you say homeless, how much was rough sleeping as compared to shelters, emergency accommodation, staying with friends, etc?
How tragic that you had to be separated from your cat!! Have you been able to visit them or at least get an update on them? 😭♥️

Firstly hello, and thanks for sharing, did people try to physically harm you and/or your Mother often? I don’t know why but that’s one of the things beside the cold weather, that scares me.
