I witnessed someone take their own life at work with a firearm AMA.

It was about as normal as a Monday could be for us. At around 1pm he went outside engaged in conversation with some people for a little. After he turned a corner went behind a shipping container and shot himself with a rifle.

Edit: I am military.

Walking around work with a rifle in your hands is a normal thing?

Were there signs prior days and what not? My mom has said “not always, but there’s a lot of times it will be the person you least suspect”. Holds true to the few I’ve crossed paths with that I never would’ve guessed. And ones that I feared for haven’t.

Did you see the shot or the aftermath? How were you involved with the situation?
