I woke up during an operation on my back when travelling in Australia 8 years ago. The operation happened after an at-home attempt to remove a cyst (which my brother filmed and now had over 200k views on YouTube)

what happened when you woke up? did you feel pain?
Link to the vid ?
Are you posting from the operating table.
Did this just happen.
Just kidding I don’t care
How old were you when this happened? Did you tell the surgeon/physicians that you woke up after the surgery?
Where was the cyst located that you tried to remove at home?
are you ginger
When you said you let your brother perform home surgery I automatically assumed you were a dude lol
Bro, same. I woke up during a colonoscopy. It was unpleasant.
Now we need to see the video. Post it to r/popping 🙂
Not sure if relevant, but if still worried about cysts, consider checking out, “Cleanse to Heal” by Anthony William free from many libraries. I think it helped me with mystery problems.
Had same thing happen, multiple times. Once while they were in my eyeball and I was flailing. Told them to get me out and they essentially told me they were in my eyeball and to stop moving around. I remember each time I woke up, conversations that were had, etc.
I woke up during an eye surgery. I was amazed. Suddenly I heard ‘I think she’s awake’ then I was in recovery. Sorry you had a bad experience.
I woke up during my colonoscopy and during my first knee replacement. I also was never properly out while under laughing gas with a tooth removal but there was no way to tell the doctor because my jaw was propped open.
I have issues with anesthesia and Novocaine. The nerve block didn’t work on me with either knee replacement. (I’m not red haired.)
Are you red haired?
I’ve done that twice during surgery. The 1st time was a tonsillectomy when I was 4. I think they had just finished, but I was still on the operating table. I told my mom, but she didn’t believe it. The 2nd time was a year ago. I had carpal tunnel surgery and woke up as they were finishing the stitches in my hand.
Were they still removing the cyst/tumor when you woke up? Did you feel any pain?
I’m still not clear whether the cyst video is related to your actual surgery. Is the cyst connected to the tumor? How was the tumor found?
I’ve actually done this a couple times.
The last time I was actually speaking to the surgeon, but he thought I was talking in my sleep
Do you feel traumatized by the experience? Sorry that happened OP, you’re brave
This happened to me with a foot surgery. I kept yelling “I can feel that!!!! It hurts” as she cut into my foot. Then they tried again with the anesthesia and that didn’t knock me out so finally they just gave me nerve blockers in my leg/foot and I complained the rest of the time 😂
Im having a hip replacement on Friday and they only give me a spinal.
I guess at least I know I will be awake for the duration 😂
My uncle had an eye surgery in which he had to stay awake for the surgery
I was 16 and having a tonsillectomy with the jack in my mouth and I started bleeding way too much and was choking. I sat up, I had a little seizure and stopped breathing and flatlined. They paddled me back and put me back under. I heard the whole conversation between the surgeon and anesthesiologist and watched it all happen. The surgeon didn’t tell my folks, I did and they didn’t believe me, thought I was dreaming it all. Then on my follow-up, I recounted the entire thing to the surgeon and he went white a a ghost and admitted it all happened just like I said. Happens more often than we think!
I woke up looking up into the incredibly bright light above me then my surgeons masked face over me saying, “oh, you’re awake. We’re almost done.” Then I was out again.

I find these posts about waking up during surgery so fascinating. I had a tumor on my pituitary gland that was removed a couple of years back. I was terrified that I would wake up during surgery and brought this up with my surgeon. He chuckled and literally said “It won’t happen, it never happens and stay off Reddit” 😂
I woke up during my foot surgery. They were hammering something in my foot and it was up really high. I was lifting my head trying to see my foot and the surgeon said, “don’t lift your head like that, you’re going to strain your neck, just look at the screens”.
There were 2 screens to my right but the images looked like my foot was an xray? I don’t know how to explain it. I lifted my head again to see my foot but the surgeon kept telling me I was to injure my neck. Then, I was out and woke up on when I was supposed to.
