Hmm. Can you give specifics about the kind of people you work with? Something that gives us an idea about what you can speak to? For example things like “I work with low IQ individuals” or “I work with incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people” or “I work with people with delusions and hallucinations” stuff like that.

I feel like a lot of mental health professionals got into the field the same way some people get into sports—they were good enough to play at the college level, or in this case, study psychology. But deep down, they were chasing the dream of going “pro”—working with private clients and charging premium, often out-of-pocket rates. The reality is, most of them don’t make it to that level. Instead, they get stuck in the grind, overwhelmed by caseloads, burnt out, and eventually kind of checked out emotionally. And unfortunately, that apathy trickles down to the clients who need real, engaged support.
How would you respond to this perspective? This may be too personalized…
