I wrote a fake parenting book to cope with my childhood, and it turned out kinda brilliant

r/

I grew up with some pretty rough parenting — the kind that stays with you, even when you think you’re “fine.”

A few months ago, I started joking about it. Writing down sarcastic “tips” like:

  • “If your kid cries, mock them — they love being called dramatic.”
  • “Never let them win. Even if you’re wrong.”

What started as dark humor therapy turned into a 200-page monster I titled Bad Parenting 101: How to Raise a Child if You Want Him Not to Succeed, to Be Confused, Suffer and Lost.

It’s satire. It’s brutal. It’s also painfully honest.

I don’t know if this book will help anyone – maybe it’ll make someone laugh, or maybe they’ll realize what not to do. But writing it helped me.

If you want a sample chapter, let me know. I’d love to hear your thoughts – even the angry ones.
