My understanding is all of these viruses are transmitted from human fluids and contact.
If I lived in the woods and did not come within 5 miles of another person, would I ever catch a cold?

lol. Those germs are around us anyways. Our body just fights them off daily. You can’t escape nature
It’d be unlikely. Technically possible if you got bird flu or swine flu from an animal, someone sneezed on something and dropped it from an airplane, but if you’re 5 miles away from all humans and not in close contact with pets/cattle/birds, it’s very unlikely. Honestly even if you are in contact with animals it’s still unlikely, just remotely possible.
Yes, those specific viruses come only in human flavor. However, there are plenty other ways to get sick (bacteria) and we grow that in our own bodies. If a “good” bacteria stays where it’s supposed to stay, it’s “good”. But if it somehow gets into the wrong part of the organism, it can very well become pathogenic
Unfortunately, no.
Remote villages with zero outside contacts still get the bird flu.
