My neighbors daughter continues to hit small softballs into our backyard yard while practicing softball. The mini softballs are a little bigger than a golf ball and they are squishy. My dogs have already chewed one of them up. I keep finding them in my yard and you would think they would be courteous enough to text us and say hey we hit a few over the fence but no they don’t. These balls are big enough to cause an obstruction in a dog. My husband ( who is very non confrontational)has told them about it but it continues to happen. I could throw them back but I don’t because I wouldn’t want their dog to get it and something happen to him. So if something happens to my dog because of these little balls do I have legal recourse?

No. You do not. You can throw their balls back over the fence into their yard. Or you can pick them up and throw them away. You have a legal duty to prevent or mitigate the harm and your just leaving the balls there for your dog to eat does neither.
