If you could bring back ONE celebrity who passed away too soon, purely to see what they’d create next, who would it be and why?

“It was rainin’ hard in ‘Frisco, I needed one more fare to make my night . . . “
Kurt Cobain.
Anthony Bourdain
Jim Henson
Cliff Burton. Original bassist of Metallica (don’t @ me about Ron McGovney)
Dude died at age 24 through a tour bus accident, and was a huge part of the sound they developed through Master of Puppets. Touring through Europe in support of Master of Puppets, there was a bad crash that ejected him from a window before the bus fell on top of him. He was the only casualty. I don’t think anyone else was even seriously injured.
Well known for technical skill on bass and use of effects like distortion and wah pedals, which were typically not used by bassists, and was infamously sought out by Metallica after they heard him perform a solo live with his previous band – they heard it and thought it was a guitar solo, just to look up and see a dude wailing on a bass.
Lance Reddick.
Voices like that don’t come along often.
Mozart, just imagine the possibilities!
Val Kilmer. For obvious reasons.
Freddie Mercury
As a Latina Texan, Selena. She would’ve been J. lo but with actual talent.

Toss between Selena, Aaliyah or Michael Jackson.
I fucking started dialysis because my dad said he’d take me to see Michael in concert. 6 weeks later, Michael died. And I’m typing this while taking dialysis. Yeah I been on dialysis since 2009 and the entire reason I consented at 22 was for a concert that never happened. Yeah I hate my fucking life.

This answer for me will never not be Anthony Bourdain. He had such a fantastic way with words. He seems to be such a genuine person with a love of people and culture.
George Carlin. Just to see what he makes of this shit
Jim Henson
Japanese DJ Nujabes who made kinda proto lofi/Jazz Hop stuff in the 2000s (and still my fav), then died in a car crash in 2010. Lofi got way more popularyesrs later, and I feel he coulda had a heyday.
Id like to see what he came up with.
Michael Jackson. Because we need some good old fashioned, world uniting music.
Irrfan Khan. For Non-Indians, you must have seen him in Life of Pi and Jurassic Park.
Amy Winehouse. She was such a talent and I have no doubt she would still be making music today if she were alive and healthy.
Douglas Adams
Satoshi Kon, director of Perfect Blue, Paprika, Tokyo Godfathers et al. He had such a unique and captivating style, and his work tackled themes and characters you rarely see in live action film, let alone animation. Truly one of the most innovative animators in film history. I would have loved to see what else he had in him. He passed away at 46 from pancreatic cancer.
Carrie Fisher
Bring back Tesla.
196 unique patents, in 26 different countries. The neon sign, the induction motor, alternating current transmission, the Niagra Falls hydroelectric power generator, a ~90% efficient turbine engine, radio controlled toys, and over a dozen inventions were not even developed‽
Damn right, I wanna see what’s next.

George Carlin
If I got to bring back a celebrity who died too early (GNU Terry Pratchett) it would be purely so they could have more time with their family and friends, I wouldn’t expect them to create a thing.
John Ritter
Karen Carpenter. She had the voice of an angel.

He had so much more music to give
Anton Yelchin.

Since top comment is Steve Irwin right now, I’m gonna say Mr. Fred Rogers. We need more sane, calming voices. He always worried over us.
Heath Ledger
Heath Ledger
Walt Disney. I feel that the theme parks would be VERY different.
River Phoenix
Heath Ledger
John Candy. I always enjoyed the characters that he portrayed, and would have liked to have seen more.
Plus, an SCTV movie could have been brilliant.
Jeff Buckley. He had sooo much to give
Lot of people in here are naming people who had long, acclaimed careers, some 40+ years, which is fine I guess but I think it would be more be more interesting to bring back someone who had a much younger career. Yea we all love Steve Irwin and Robin Williams and Freddie Mercury and Jim Henson and Anthony Bourdain and so on but none of these people were at their height when they passed. Yes, they were huge but they already created multiple masterpieces and a legacy in their own lifetimes.
How about someone like Hu Bo who killed himself after only making one film (An Elephant Standing Still), highly regarded by everyone who has seen it or the author John Kennedy Toole who wrote the massively popular and Pulitzer winning Confederacy of Dunces that was only published after he killed himself?
What about someone like James Dean or Chadwick Boseman or Heath Ledger who died when their careers were on the rise?
What about Charles Laughton who was a successful actor but directed one of the greatest and most beautiful movies ever made, Night of the Hunter, but he didn’t direct another film because it wasn’t appreciated?
What about Tupac or Biggie or Amy Winehouse or Sid Vicious or Jimi Hendrix or Kurt Cobain or Janis Joplin or Selena or Aaliyah or Otis Reading or Aviici or Mac Miller or Buddy Holly, people who died young and at the heights or beginning of their careers?
These are the kinds of people I’d like to bring back, the people who may not have already created the greatest things they’d ever create.
John Candy
Aaliyah
River Phoenix.
Dude was such an incredibly gifted actor.
Dimebag Darrell.
The way he was taken was beyond heinous and he had so much talent. He’ll always be my favourite guitarist.
Regardless of the “Pantera” reunion without the Abbott Brothers, I would have loved to see what he would have done.
Brittany Murphy!
Bill Hicks would be magical right now!!!! We do have Burr though!
I know he wasn’t exactly young, but it still was too soon. George Carlin. I’d give anything to hear a monologue about his first impressions after returning.
