Although those decades were a simpler and safer time, I love the progress made in so many areas of human endeavor. I could easily go back and thrive in any of those decades mentioned, I am 64 years old but I want to see what new discoveries in science, medicine, and arts and humanities await mankind. I truly believe the way is forward not back. Just one opinion.
I grew up in Mexico in the 60’s, and I’d go right back to live in Oaxaca in a heartbeat, ideally ’67 through 1980, hanging out with hippies from all over the world, going up to the mountains or down to the beach, eating the most succulent food on Earth. Every day was a magic carnival of sensory delight.
60’s – except this time my draft card has to NOT be 1A. Other than the threat of the draft the 60’s were pretty damn great for both kids and adults, unless you were black in which case it was a time of conflict and ultimately positive change but at a high cost. So my perspective is from a white guy’s viewpoint but I certainly lived thru and understand how different the black experience was in that decade.
Upsides- no internet, no cell phones, no car jacking, no personal computers, space race to the moon and all the inventions from it. British Invasion of music and evolution in rock. Passage of Civil Rights act. Landing on the moon. Woodstock(still wouldn’t go).
Downsides- Vietnam war, draft, Assassinations of John&Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King. Civil Rights battle and riots.
I grew up in the 70s and early 80s in New York City. I left the city in 1983 after graduating college. Looking back, I would have wanted to stay in the city during that time. NYC was exciting back then, and offered more opportunities for someone just starting out than today.
Austin in the 80s. Before it got taken over by tech and high real estate values and inadequate infrastructure. Because it was cool and you could just do your thing.

80s. Because I am female.

‘91-92 in Seattle. Need I say more?
So Cal
Late ‘80’s
Manchester England.
The music.
60s. San Francisco ✌️
Early 70’s. I found my real first love
80’s. Good music and Vietnam war was over (no draft).
NYC or LA before they got stupid crowded, expensive, and commercialized.
‘60s, San Francisco
Late 70s, early 80s {my 20s.) Austin TX.
And I would have listened to my inner voice and not gotten married.
70’s London was like living in the most fabulous junk shop. I loved it.
Mid 80s. I was just saying to my wife that if I could pick a year to run on loop, I think it would be 1987.

I have always wanted to buy property in the Lake Tahoe area and since I’m a huge fan of the ‘80’s, I’d buy something in North Shore around 1982.
In the 80s, but only with the knowledge and experiences that I have now.
PNW, NEAR Seattle or Portland area or Colorado in that order for the environment
Hermosa Beach, CA 1970s. The laid-back vibe was beyond anything Jimmy Buffet could have ever imagined.
The 80s, Ft. Lauderdale, Fl., The club scene was off the hook. So many good memories.

60’s of course, and then live through the 79s and 80s
Why miss any of those decades out?
The 80s and the Keaton’s house
The 60’s – Phoenix Arizona. The valley air was still pristine, the Japanese Flower Gardens and less than 500,000 people.
1989 cause that was the year a lot of good music came out and it’s the closest to the 90s, which was a big cultural shift. At least in my experience
Honestly, I wouldn’t. I have no nostalgia. Now is my best time.
Late 70s thru 80s because of the post punk music.
Set the way-back machine to swinging London, preferably the Marquee Club, on a random weekend in 1967.
What a random set of dates might look like.

New York City in the 70s. I’d hang out at Studio 54 every weekend.

75-85 somewhere along the way SoCal coast.
