I’d imagine it depends if they’re drunk like most of the guys peeing in those places. Normal, sober men don’t pee in any of them.
I’d probably pee in nature(?) in a pinch but otherwise probably want to stick to a bathroom. I’m imagining like stuck in standstill traffic on a the thruway and go run into the woods off the side to quickly relieve myself. I would absolutely love to be able to pee standing up in a public restroom though.
Christ, no. Pissing all over the place is the ultimate in entitlement. Read a thread a little while ago where folks who stand to pee were moaning about their partners thinking it’s gross when they step out the back door and let fly. Guess what? It’s gross! Sure you might feel connected to nature or whatever shit when you, say, piss on your favourite back yard tree. But, like, what happens when it gets hot and that piss stank starts to envelop the yard? What if your kids play out there? It’s foul.
Yes, it would give me more options. I have, though, on occasion had to pee (and poop) outside – though I’ve generally tried to do it discreetly (i.e. behind a bush or wall, or in a quiet alleyway) whereas men seem to be able to pee openly. Of course, where possible, I’d much rather use a (clean) toilet.

I am a cis woman and i grew up in a place that at the time didn’t have a lot of public toilets. when i was a child if it was between me peeing my pants or pulling them down in the street, my mom would just let me pee in the street. people would just chuckle knowingly because it was a pretty common thing to do. (80s, balkan ¯_(ツ)_/¯ )
when i was a teen, same thing, more alcohol. we used to hide in bushes and sometimes those bushes were on private property. oops. yeah we ran with our trousers around our ankles more than once.
i am currently lucky enough to have a well behaved bladder and live in a city abundant with public toilets. but i have a vivid memory from years back, of this older lady hiding between two containers and having the shits. we made eye contact.
all this to say, idk. depends on the circumstances. i wouldn’t be happy and comfortable doing it, and i can definitely say i wouldn’t argue tho, it’s very valid for others to be disgusted by it.
Would definitely not be peeing in public places, so definitely not playgrounds somewhere like Subway stations.
I would probably be on trees in the woods though, because if you’re out hiking or on a road trip and you have to go you’re not near a bathroom… that’s a pretty acceptable place to do it. Assuming that no one is going to see (because no one needs to witness my business lol)
Not sure if I should comment being a man, but you can too pee standing up; I’ve seen it, I’ve known women who did it as non-chalantly as men do. You just gotta stop wearing clothes that block the way (I don’t know if you also gotta be more open to walking around with pee on your skin sometimes). Also, you don’t need to be able to pee standing up to pee in places that you name. Again, I’ve seen it, I’ve known women who did it as non-chalantly as do men. It’s simply a matter of what’s been normalised and how much you’re willing to stray from the normal. (Yes, I know my reply misses the point OP was making.)
I’ve seen women pee in all those places. flower bed? yep. squat and pee. Gutter at the side of the road? yep. squat and pee. playground? nope, haven’t seen anyone pee in a playground.
You can already pee everywhere men pee without needing to stand to do it, visit NYC metro or Chicago and you’ll find that out real quick.
Bad people do bad things, just like the women who “squirt” in restaurants and other public places.
Blatantly pissing in public is a great way to catch a sex offender charge. It’s happened.
The last person I saw truly pissing in public was an old asian lady squatting in the decorative flower garden outside of the Smithsonian a couple summers ago. She wasn’t 5′ from the sidewalk where at least 1 person per second was walking by.
I know some rough guys, I mean biker gang rough, and they don’t piss on the streets, in playgrounds, etc like the OP is describing.
